Kramer or Rosen Cross Draw Holster ??

Before I scratch my itch to carry a 2” K or J frame cross draw, does anyone have any belt time with either the Kramer or Rosen cross draw models? Do they conceal well? Are they comfortable?

Yup, I know all the arguments against carrying offside. But sometimes the old worn out back balks at strong side carry. So please let’s not turn this into a why you shouldn’t and make it a what is best for this mode of carry. Thanks for sharing your experience specifically with the two brands or suggestions for other brands that you have experience with.

The Bianci cyclone ( model 111, I believe) is the best OTC cross draw available for larger Smith handguns. It makes it possible to actually carry these big things in the field.

I’ve not tried them for J frames, but see no reason why they wouldn’t work just fine.

I have heard several of the arguments against crossdraw and the majority of them just don't make any sense at all. Just repeated nonsense mostly.

I have all sorts of crossdraw holsters and the ones that seem to work consistently from size to size are these vintage ones made by Bucheimer and others. They have a spring holding the back edges and you adjust the tension and retention with the screw. There's a belt loop on the back. Not what you asked about, but I don't know if you've seen these before.

Another one to check out. While I have both Kramer and Rosen, I have no crossdraw from either maker. I do have Bianchi Cyclone and Haugen Leather Huntington Wedge - worth checking out.

I have a “Master’s brand” for the J from ebay, about $55, that I really like.

Also bought one for 1911, it rode too high and twisted out, so YMMV depending on gun.

I have several from Ken Null in 2.5"-3" and find them very functional and quite comfortable while driving. Also, as I have aged I find I'm a little quicker on my draw stroke with the crossdraw holster...

I have never carried cross-draw so I can't comment on that style of holster. That said, I do have extensive experience with Kramer's Horsehide Leather holsters and they are my number one choice and my go to for EDC. I've purchased them exclusively for decades now. Kramer makes his horsehide holsters to a custom fit, perfect retention with no snaps, straps, screws or velcro and have never lost their stiff characteristics. IMHO there is no better.

I have never owned a Rosen holster but have only heard great things about them as well. Quite honestly, since I discovered Kramer Leather I have never seeked out any other maker.

I met Mitch Rosen once. I would very much recommend the Kramer "Vertical Belt Scabbard" as a product; they make it in strong side,crossdraw
and neutral cant.I would very much recommend you to purchase the horsehide option, it's very tough and very long lived. For many, many years I carried either a 19 2 1/2 or a 66 2 1/2 in a cross draw and found the holster to hold the revolver securely and comfortably. The holster concealed well. I still have my original horsehide holster and it is still serviceable and looks good after almost 30 years.One small point- I find that with large frame or longer barrel lengths the neutral cant worn cross draw seems to work better in my particular case- the cross draw cant worked great for my 2 1/2 . I presently carry a 6" 19, 4" 19 and a 4" 57

I have had a Kramer cross-draw for my Colt Commander for many years. It was a favorite when spending loads of time in the truck.

I have Lobo Gun Leather and Mernickle cross draw holsters, and both are excellent. Lots of great holster makers out there, and lots of choices. Good luck!

Little late to the party, but had read the OP and skipped the rest. If you're still looking check out Ken Null holsters. Not cheap but fantastic quality and design.

I can't speak specifically to the holster selected but I've had a couple of Kramers in the past for different guns. Their horsehide is about as tough as Kydex. I can recommend them. I've heard good things on Rosen. Never owned any.
