Kroil for small engine seizure

I have a honda engine based power washer with a fair amount of hours on it. It got used without an oil check and seized. I pulled the plug and sprayed Kroil in the cylinder and crankcase. A couple weeks later I removed the starter recoil assy and cracked the shaft loose with a wrench. Refilled oil and a shot of starter fluid and it runs like a champ. Saved me from buying a new engine.

Kroil is an amazing product. When I worked in the power generating industry, we'd tear down a turbine that had been in constant service for years. The contractor would have a 5 gallon can of Kroil on the turbine deck and every fastener got sprayed down with Kroil and in some cases, heat was also applied. At the end of the job, the remailing Kroil was up for grabs amongst the crew. I've got a lifetime supply. 😂

I live in a salt-belt state and couldn't work on the cars without Kroil. Tried PB Blaster and the others but always Kroil, and a long breaker bar, for the win. I hear you can use it on firearms but been lucky there and not needed.

I wipe down most of my pistols with Kroil couple times a year, let them sit for a hour or so and wipe down with gun oil before back in a safe. Live 1/4 mile from the sound and less than 5 miles from Atlantic so take no chances.

Kroil is the duct tape of the penetrating oil world. My dad and brother were firm believers as they were both machinists.

Dad taught me to transfer Kroil from their original metal containers to mason jars as over a long time Kroil can penetrate the welds at the bottom.

Got a spray can in the garage, last used it on a 1972 Perkins 4.236 to get the top coolant tank bolts to free up. They were twisting about 30 degrees without breaking loose and the shanks were corroded to the tank for inches. Sailboat sat in salt water for 50 years, original engine.

Its been almost half a century since I was introduced to Kroil.
Was on a crew rebuilding some old mining equipment and we were struggling with stubborn fasteners. The boss brought some Kroil to the shop and said 'try this.'
Wow! I've been a fan ever since and learned WD-40 is not penetrating oil.

I hear a 50/50 mix of automatic transmission fluid and acetone, shaken often (because it tends to separate in the container in a very few minutes) is the ery best penetrant for rusted bolts. Better than Kroil, even.
Should work for stuck pistons too if given time to do it’s thing.

Yes, amazing stuff. Started using it over half a century ago as a young apprentice machinist. Liked some of their other products as well. Such as their degreasing products.

We use to get their interesting and often hilarious newsletters. Don’t know if they still do that.

Great stuff. Highly recommended.

WE had an old Johnson 5.5 outboard that must have frozen up 5 times. Pull the head pound the piston, worked until the next time it got dropped in the water or run with not enough oil mix. Kroil would have probably worked down the spark plug hole.

Bought an original 1965 Cub 50. Guy snagged it from the dump entrance, Got it running and it would do 45 MPH and get 170 MPG. You meet the nicest people on a Honda bike. it's the worlds biggest seller and you know you'll like 200 miles per gallon and a rugged trail machine and Honda prices start around $215. I think they made over 60 million of them. remember the pictures of two young people riding one. Sold it for $650 paid $250. It managed better than a mile per OUNCE of gas. Pushrod Hemi.

I always wanted a moped as a kid but eventually went to a street bike. My Suzuki 650 (with modifications) barely got 30 mpg, but it was fast.... Those classic Hondas are really cool.

In 1973 I bought a used 900 Kawasaki for $1400 with 1400 miles on the odometer. That was one fast bike and I weighed less than 150 #. Learned a lot about situational awareness. That bike would beat a Norton Commando by 1/3rd of the distance in 1/4 mile. One time a Guy apologized for coming into "my" lane. He didn't realize I could get there that fast. It was just as much my fault because I did know it could get there that fast. One of my buddies brother bought one and a woman ran over him and dragged him and the bike grinding both to pieces. The cops followed the trail to her driveway. She told them she did not even realize she had run over him.
