Today marks our 53rd trip around the sun together. Our wedding cost about $200 and we received about $600 in cash. We had a total of about $900 between us. I would do the same thing today.

We made it to almost 53, this would have been 54. Congratulations and enjoy life.
Congrats! My son just told me a co-worker of his is getting married this weekend - so far they have spent over $120,000 for the wedding. That's crazy. 
Congratulations. My parents just made it to 40 years married before my mother died. My aunt and uncle who lived near me and recently passed away made it to 63 years married.
Bloody well done! We are cruising into 43 as I started late. Up until then I had yet to find a woman who made me not want to climb aboard a tour bus.

Congratulations
We completed 49 years this on July17th. We had 100 people at our wedding and it cost us right at $3000. Got more than that back so we had a few $$ left to go away on.

We share everything. We have one checking account and both have access to it (she has the checkbook LOL). We talk everything out and some times agree to disagree. We made a commitment at the beginning and that hasn't changed. We support each other through the good times and the bad times. It's been fun.
1972 was a good year. Our 53rd would have been Aug. 23. Sadly, my sweet and beautiful Mrs. swsig passed away in March. I miss her very day. Make every moment count.

Congratulations, sir...my bride and I have similar arrangement.
We celebrated our 46th anniversary yesterday.
We joke because I have travelled most of my career so, while we've been married for 46 years, Mrs. MetalMan jokes that we've only been together about half that time.

I think the key is unconditional love, and a partnership. We live near a major ski area, she said when we married, please don't go to the bar without me. She doesn't drink anymore, I almost don't.
Mon and Pop made it from Feb 1946 to Feb 2024. She went first at 98 and he went 9 months later at 103. Hope they are together. Their ashes are. God bless them.

I'm an old bachelor. If I got married tomorrow, to approach what a lot of you have done I'd have to make it to age 120.

Our 53rd is a bit later in the year. I had just come back from my 2nd tour in-country. You had more cash than we did. Congrats!!
Congrats man. We're at 48, never thought I'd live this long much less being married that long. It's the biggest blessing of my life.
Congratulations! Our 42nd is coming up. It cost $17.00 as I recall (justice of the peace). Had to borrow $2.00 off the janitor in the hallway because I was that broke! LOL
Married over 40 years but not to the same woman. I had a practice wife for 19 years and finally left her for what amounted to good reasons and her lack of commitment to our union. Been married to my forever wife for a little over 21 years now. I remember how important it was to me to be married to her longer than practice wife. I celebrated that day silently but deep inside.
