Well, I tried to locate some around here, but no luck. Went on the Kroil website, and they have what they call a Google special. 2- 13 oz spray cans shipped for 21 bucks. i would have preferred a can, but I am sure this will do.

Just in case somebody is looking for a deal

I thought I had seen it at my local Lowe’s or Home Depot.
We use to get it at the place where I was employed at one time. It truly is some amazing stuff especially on the things we were using it on!

I think aerosol Kroil might just be too much of a good thing. Like colt-saa says, it might go everywhere. I always get it in a can. Shoot, it won't even stay in the can! I keep the can in a glass dish since it oozes out and messes up my bench. Aerosol Kroil? Not for me.

A while back, KROIL had a QC problem with their big spray cans.
The internal straws become detached so the can only works upside down.
I did the 2 can deal and they were both bad.
Pretty much cone over to Eezox and Ballistol now.
PB Blaster for stuck thingz.

I have never seen it for sale in any type of store. I have always had to order. I think it has been around a long time, and surely they sold it in stores pre-internet, but who knows! And you can make your own at a fraction of the price—1/2 ATF, 1/2 Acetone.

I do that and keep it in a refillable aerosol can.

We filled up an old one gallon metal can. Then pour it off (after shaking it up) into air tight, old time “oilers” or oil cans. Works great. I use in place of Hoppes now.

Get some Kano Kroil on Amazon. I prefer the non aerosol version.
Good stuff!

I have always ordered mine.

I always get the can, with a spray I would be worried it might get into the wrong place

I am not overly concerned about the price specials since the can lasts a decade or more

At least a decade. I just ordered a can from Brownells to replace a can I brought up from FL 12 years ago. I also bit the bullet and got 3 of the small needle applicator bottles. Things were $4 each in a 3 pack! But I usually ended up wasting more Kroil (and Eezox), than I used with the small metal cans. Even the smallest hole in the tip was too big when you only needed a drop or 3.

check internet for independent laboratory testing's of penetrating oil - Kroil does not even come close to matching it's reputation - liquid wrench outperformed it + is much cheaper + more readily available - I use a 50/50 mixture of ATF + mineral spirits -

Just curious, why don’t you then use Liquid Wrench?

Really don't care for the smell of the stuff (Kroil). It does work ok but it just seems to hang around forever. Only when I really think it's necessary to use it which isn't often!

Most any light oil mixed with a little acetone makes a decent penetrating oil. Or a small can or LiqWrench is fine.
Lasts a long time on my bench. No need for a bluing tank full of the stuff.

Spray cans of oil are another downer for me. All over the place and then that little straw thingy flys out somewhere.
OK fine, just use the nozzle. Then for sure that pops off when the can hits the floor. What a Klutz!

The top winner of that penetrating oil contest was surprisingly a simple mix of Acetone and Automatic Transmission Fluid (not synthetic type) 50-50 !
It beat them all seven ways to Sunday .
Need a good bore cleaner , google "Ed's Red Bore Cleaner recipe" and mix it up yourself for $20.00 per gallon . Follow the directions and do not use any synthetic ATF . it will not mix with the other ingredients .

2 parts Shooters Choice and 1 part Kroil. I've used that combo for a long time with great results.

I get mine from a buddy who manages a number of back-up generating station for the local PUD. They buy 55 gallon drums of the stuff when they tear down turbines. I get a pint jar every few years. Really decent industrial supply houses carry some of the Lroils.

That being said, I love Eezox or Liquid Wrench Dry Film (PTFE and Boron Nitride in a wet carrier that evaporates) for rimfires.

What Friends are for

A Friend needed penetrating oil for a project.

Friend didn't want to buy big bottle of penetrat'n
oil. Only needed a little bit.

I told him use his wife's finger nail war paint
remover (read contents, acetone), mix 50/50
with ATF.

Seen Friend several days later, said it
worked perfect.
