Just watched ABC News proud coverage of a Los Angeles Gun Buy-Back program. Showed many (reported as 'hundreds') of cars stretched around a few blocks as they queued in line for the program. Any handgun would net a $100 gift card.
Then they panned into a diagonally positioned plastic trash tub as handguns were being tossed into it.
I paused my DVR there and saw about 4 or 5 older Smith 'K' frames, one K38 with Herrett grips on it. Saw another older nickel M&P with old style magnas on it.
On the edge, a Luger with the distinctive toggle locked open.
The last gun they showed literally THROWN in the bin was what appeared to be a 4" blued Colt Python!
The reporter was obviously thrilled to report how pleased the owners were to 'get rid' of the guns and that they would ALL be destroyed.
This is, of course nothing more than a 'feel good' move timed to extract as much emotional bankroll as possible.
I feel nauseous.........
