A friend offered me a M-60-7 .38 spec. Lady Smith with a 3 inch barrel for $500 . It looks practically unfired, has its box but nothing else no tools or papers. What do you smarter than me folks think? Buy or Pass?

If you dont mind the ladysmith logo and wanted a model 60 3in go for it. Fair price imho.

If you can deal with the ribbing your friends will hand out then the price is about right - or you could look for a standard M60 or 36 with a 3" barrel and not take the ribbing.

Over here on the Left Coast we have to jump on guns when they are offered, buty the Ladysmith. If the logo bothers you someone could probably blast if off for you. I would guess that walnut media would work but I have never handled a Ladysmith so I do not know for sure how the logo is applied.

I do know that a good abrasive blasting has resurrected many a grungy looking stainless gun.

Thanks for the replies fellas . Lady Smith logo does not bother me in the least and still wouldn`t even if I kept it. I am really thinking of buying it and then reselling it to a lady friend. I showed it to my wife, but she is happy with her m-65 3 inch and not interested in anything else. I was mainly interested in the pricing of it.

If your wife likes the 65 I'm sure you know that Smith made the LS in a 65 and it got the shrouded ejector rod...one of my favorite revolvers. I wouldn't dream of stripping off the finish!

As for any friends ribbing me about the LS label..."Hell hath no wrath like a woman scorned." ;) .357 is still .357 all day long and my LS is a true magnum right at home with the others.:)
