Looking at a Model 60-14 stainless rubber grip. Just want to know if all Lady Smith have the LS or Lady Smith engraving on them. Be Well
and Thanks
Ted
Hi Ted, my 60-14 (CPUxxxx) has the Ladysmith logo on the sideplate and that lovely (IMO) frosted finish. Came with that slippery wood-ish grip which I ditched immediately. Stay safe, partner.
I may have misunderstood your question. In the past there has been some confusion on the forum along the line of all 60-14s were Lady Smiths. My 60-14 with the rubber grips (Uncle Mikes in 2008) is not a Lady Smith model.
To the best of my knowledge all Lady Smith model 60's have the engraving but not all model 60's are Lady Smiths! Some folks don't care for the LS versions due to the markings but I don't mind a bit...they are part of the history of S&W and have been in the line up for decades.
I don't have a model 60 but I have a 65...the reason I chose it is because of it's shrouded ejector and I like the matte finish. The 3913 LS came in an NL version without the script but I've not seen that exception made in any other models outside of the 3913. Someone will come along with the definitive answer.
Pictured below is my model 60, and my wife's model 60LS. They are the same gun in every way, except for the engraved "Lady Smith" on her frame. Hers also came with nicer rosewood grips than mine (put away for date nights), but I dressed up my 60 with some nifty Altamont panel grips...
