On the left side of the home screen on this site I see an ad for lafoauto that sells “fuel filters” that are basically suppressors minus a hole in one end. These devices are completely useless for fuel filtration. The site was created in China via GoDaddy. Is this a joke? Seems a little strange. I know it’s not affiliated with smith-wessonforum.

Oh yeah they also sell AR15/M16 bench blocks and combination wrenches.....

Internet forums are hosted by a service company in exchange for payment of hosting fees and advertising privileges (generally subject to negotiable agreements). In an ideal world we might be able to free ourselves from questionable connections, but we don't live in that ideal world.

Anyone who wishes to start a forum may do so. All it takes is a significant commitment of time and money to make it happen, then a little wait and see to determine whether or not your efforts are successful. I think this forum has proven itself quite well.

Oh my word! You don't think people will try to use them as,....... sound suppression devices do you? That would be against the law, wouldn't it? No, nobody here would do that.

And we all stay home 24-7, like the government says to.

I hardly notice that third of the screen. Except when that shapely white dress appears, in my perifial vision, advertising something or another.

They're actually letting me get my cataract surgery tuned up tomorrow. Hallelujah! Might start seeing it by Friday.

I’m not sure how to relate your comments to my post. Im simply surprised to see a basically complete sound suppressor advertised to the masses as a fuel filter when it’s quite obvious what it is. Maybe I shouldn’t be. Someone’s billiards are a lot bigger than mine I guess.

It appears that I have caused offense when none was intended. Please accept my apology.

Probably really a website up by anti-gunners to show the world just how easy it is to get suppressors and be the justification for more legislation banning them. A while back there was an effort to get suppressors removed from the NFA category and it looked like it was gaining ground when all of a sudden there were national news reports of suppressors being used in crimes. (Suppressors NEVER shown but much reporting about them.) The effort to remove them has now stopped, thanks to fake news and the media. This now seems like an effort to get them banned.

I have some friends who are either currently in ATF or retired from ATF. They are aware.

There was a young airman who ordered one (or more?)
recently. US Customs tipped off either BATFE or USAF LE,
and his nutroll was well and fully unrolled.

Play dumb games, win dumb prizes.

Are you saying that there may be people out there who disobey the law and would actually buy one of these and NOT use it as a fuel filter? It even comes with a little hose

Gads!

ADDS

a very small donation = no more adds . until it is experienced it is hard to believe how much more enjoyable the forum is . i refer to myself as frugal others say i am just tight . either way it is money well spent . kenny :)

I saw similar items for sale at a legitimate gun show last year. All sorts of disclaimers posted but also instructions on how to apply thru the ATF to build a suppressor legally. Mixed messages: is it a fluid catcher, cleaning accessory or a suppressor kit, kind of like an 80% Glock receiver? Must be a common situation.
Like many others here, I ditched the ads years ago. Best entertainment money I ever spent.
