I wasn't going to go 'cause I really felt lousy this morning, decided to give it a shot about 11:30 rather then sit around a feel sorry for myself.
Suncoast shows usually aren't the greatest, but there were a few interesting guns today to fondle. One table had a model 28 no dash 6" S187XXX in great shape for $475 that I probably should have picked up, but passed.
I did pick up a 19-3 4" blue 99.5% 9K95XXX with targets and box and docs for $500, which I thought was a little dear, but had to have 'cause I keep selling my 19s and I need to hang onto one for a change.
Ammo guys were in pig heaven and black rifles were flying out the door. Cheapest SKS I saw was $469.
Not a bad day afterall and I feel better now with my "new" (almost) 19.
Cheers.

I bet you'll be regretting not picking up the M28. Congrats on the M19.

I thought I was the only one who can't buy everything he sees.

Yeah I know, but I've already got a couple with about 5K lower serial numbers and the 19 just did it for me today. You know the one gun that just makes you feel good (for now

Seeing that the last Lakeland Rifle & Pistol Club show was in January and the next one won't be until April, It must have been a Suncoast show. The last Suncoast show I went to before moving fron Venice, FL to Brevard, NC was rather disappointing. Any change?

Hawkeye

Hawkeye, it was a Suncoast show, but in a very minor way this one just seemed to have a few, very few, goodies for a change. Generally they are a bust, but I had to get out of the house and it worked out okay.

Just down the street here in Jax, local gun shop has a no-dash 28 with 4" barrel in stock. Gun is in nice shape with little sign of use but non-original grips, no box or accessories. Price $699!

Dealer knows me and usually will cut a decent deal for me on any used gun in stock. His "best" price on this one.... $725 OTD. All he would do is round off the sales tax and call in to FDLE.

Gun sales and their prices here have gone nuts.

Unrelated to the thread but earlier today, I went into one of the larger local shops. Standing room only and people weren't talking about weather, politics and sports. Salesmen were taking orders like a fast food restaurant. And I don't mean that in a bad way... People stated what they wanted, they rounded up the merchandise, collected money and processed paperwork. If it weren't for the paperwork, I think half the sales could have been conducted through a drive up window. The make up of customers in store spanned just about every age, race, gender, cultural and income group.

Speaking of paperwork, the phones were on speaker. Store had three outgoing lines and all of them to FDLE for background checks. You could listen to the recorded messages "All agents are busy and your call will be taken in the order received". Many customers had paid their bills and filled out the paperwork and left for lunch or other errands while waiting for the call on the background check to be made. One of the few times in my life that I wish I owned a gun shop. A well stocked gun shop....talk about a cash cow right now.

No thank you!

The Mrs. says I'm going to become a hermit.
I guess that's better than becoming a Kermit (the Frog).
