Just watched this movie on Prime.
Pretty good. Fast paced with plenty of action.
Some time frames didn’t make sense and all the air scenes were on the deck. But… Hollywood.
Anyway, when the air guys were out of ordinance they would say “I’m Winchester.”
Is that a thing?
What’s the backstory on that phrase?

As far as I know, it originated in Vietnam and meant "out of ammo". Probably a reference to the old Winchester repeating rifle that could be "loaded on Sunday and shot all week".

While Hollywood hokum, "Land of Bad" is first movie I believe
where an Air Force air controller is the main character/hero.
