LAPD SIS, 645's or 4506's?

Any of our LAPD guys here work with SIS, or know much about them?

Did they use the 645 or the 4506, or both?

Any of them still using either? Regards 18DAI.

I know most recently Kimber made them their own style 1911. The cocking serrations even spelled out SIS. Prior to that I have no knowledge

SIS 645 & 4506

SIS had 645's before anyone in the city had 45's. They had 4506 after 645 was not made anymore.

SIS used S+W 45s in 645/4506/4566 depending on preference.Currently 1911s by Kimber and other manufacturers,and different model Glocks in .45. Bob
