Hi M&P 1522'ers,

I'm very new to this forum and this is my maiden thread. I've spent alot of time viewing other member's rigs and I'm thoroughly impressed with the creativity. I orginally joined the forum to gather info about the firearm this forum is based upon. I'm not usually the type to just jump up and buy. This being said I have reviewed the options for an " AR style " dedicated .22lr and as many of you know the is by far the closest in replication besides conversion kits( sacraifice of accuracy ). So, I'm very pleased to say I'll be purchasing one as soon as I can make it home(48 & Canada/Alaska truck driver).

Although, I do not posess the firearm yet I have begun to purchase goodies for it. So far I have a BSA Sweet .22 and the Laser Genetics ND-3. I know it doesn't seem like much but, those two items alone are are more than the rifle itself in my home state. when this hunt all began I swore I was just gettig a stripped down 10/22 and going to build from there.

Many questions to follow:

Can you change barrel out to bull barrel? I would like the Magnum Research (Carbon/Graphit) barrel but, I doubt that'll fit.

What sling/mount will mount and be like a tactical setup? Is this the mctar-30? if so, does anyone have pictures? I would like a sling with a single contact point with rifle and fairly well-balanced when suspended from body. Not too partial to the the sling mount at the end of the butt.

What Hogue pistol grip are alot of members using? Anyone know the part number?

Who makes the foregrip that partially wraps around the magazine wih the finger molds?

What bipod has been generally accepted as the best suited for this particular appilication (besides the one in combination with the vertical foregrip)?

Who's makin a laser that is visible if any that is visible at 25 yds. Or better?

I was going to put a flashlight on it but, since I purchased the nd-3 I think it would just be redundant.

Who has the aftermarket high capacity mags?

I'm sorry for all the q's but I'm sure folks like BeltFed and Phil have alot of insight as well as most everyone else on here. I'm just not very 15-22 savvy yet. Thanks

welcome to the forum and the disorder as i like to call it.... ill answer a few that i know alittle about

1. there are no aftermarket barrels just yet for the 15-22..
2. a viridian laser is high vis. but pricey
3. hogue grip is the 1 that fits the ar-15
4. haris makes very good bipods
5. all mags right now are high cap. mags they hold 25rds... unless you live in a state that doesnt allow it then they are pinned

pretty much its like this... the beauty of this gun lies in its holder.. make it your own... dont build it to anyones specs other than yours... if you find an ar part you like ask if it fits.. someone on here will know..

like i said half of the fun in owning this gun is dressing it up...

Make it your own personal "doll"

What about Mako's mag well grip has anyone installed/used one of these yet? If so was there any modification needed?
