I will be getting a 627 PC soon and was thinking about getting the CT laser grip (this will be my home defence weapon and I'll take it to the range for practice) I wanted to know if anyone has put the laser grip on an N frame as I see that S&W only offers the factory set up on the smaller revolvers. CT's offering does not have the finger grooves of the hogue grips will that be a problem? Here is the link Laser Sight For Smith & Wesson LG-314 Rubber Overmold | Crimson Trace Laser Grips
Thanks for the help...

I have CT laser grips on three handguns, an S&W 637 and 686+, and a Browning Hi Power. Not an N frame in the bunch. In all three of my handguns, I found the CT grips -- simply as grips -- to be an improvement over the originals. I cannot speak of how the lack of finger grooves will affect you, but I think I can assure you that you will be a happy camper with the set you get for your 627. I recommend a lot of dry fire practice before going to the range. You will be startled, perhaps even turned off at first, at how the red dot staggers all over the place. That's YOU doing it, not the laser, and you've been doing that all your life. Yet, if you handle your trigger properly, you probably are a pretty good shot anyway. Stay with it, and you will just get quicker and better.

Cordially, Jack

thanks for the quick reply jack... do you have a picture of your 686 with the grip available?

Cleaning a 627 with CT laser

I ordered a 627 and will add the CT laser.
Guy at the range advised to keep any solvent away from the laser when cleaning or the red dot gets affected. Blurry I think he said.
