Latest Acquisition and Grip ID

I was fortunate enough to find this Classic Series model 36-10 in the Color Case Hardened finish and with the 3" heavy barrel. The CCH finish does give it a vintage appearance, one that, to my eye, is compromised by the Altamont Magna stocks. I wanted stocks that complement the look of the gun.

I found some that certainly have that vintage look and are in a design with which I am not familiar. They are reminiscent of stocks I've seen on larger frame guns, but I have no idea whether these are some, very proficient, hobbyist's effort, something by a known grip maker either past or present, or part of a manufacturer's line. Interested in what you think.

Regardless, I think these will give the gun the "look" that I desire. Being in NJ, it will be a while until I have the gun in hand. I'm sure that I will have the stocks well in advance of the gun.

They look like Herrett's to me that have been slightly reshaped and refinished.

That's a beauty of a gun Bob. The CCH and the heavy barrel really set it off. I can't wait to see the new grips on the gun.

Hey, I can join this party. Pizza Bob, that's an awesome revolver. Had no idea that is available with a 3" barrel. Good stuff.

I had the exact same thought, that the modern production stock grip does not look right. Added Herrett's Shooting Ace grips to my 2" Model 36-10. Had a Taylor T grip on it for a few years. Looking for a bronze T Grip to complete the package.

They appear to be early Guy Hogue to me. I have a set of K's and will dig them out for a pic when I can.
