Does anyone know anything about the EPA's plan to ban all ammunition that has a lead component, under the toxic materials act of 1976? Supposedly an anti-hunting organization has petitioned the EPA to do so. I heard the EPA is having a public comment period through October before the pull the plug on all ammunition, to include target ammo, that contains lead. At the same time the EPA will ban the use of all lead fishing sinkers and weights. They are doing this at the request of some anti-hunting, anti-fishing group.

Of course this is all illegal and an end run around congress. However, what the EPA is trying to do the Texas regarding the clean air act and our refineries and petro chemical industry is also illegal, but that isn't stopping them. Thankfully our Governor and Attorney General is standing up to the EPA and refusing to comply with their illegal directives.

To current administration or the current rulers of Congre$$ are having enough trouble right now retaining any power at all. Thus, I doubt they will be messing with the gun lobby and millions of voting firearms enthusiasts UNTIL/UNLESS the mid-term elections return a lot of 'em to power.

Hunting and fishing sports were excluded from the EPA regulations.

The EPS has rejected the anti-hunting groups' request to include ammunition and fishing equipment to be included in the EPA's rules. The ammo "ban" is now a moot point.

The EPA rejected it....for now. That does not mean they cannot reconsider and reverse their decision.

The EPA has way, WAY, **WAY** too much power. It has become a rogue agency that is in essence exempt from Congressional oversight. It unilaterally declared CO2 to be a "pollutant" which makes each one of us who exhales, a polluter.

The creation of that agency was about the only reason old Nixon ever gave me to cuss him.

EPA got a request to ban lead bullets, looked at it, and rejected it. Why? The law that empowers them to regulate toxic metals specifically exempts lead bullets.

It will never happen! It was written in along time ago that lead ammo and it's components are exempt.

Just remember, to quote an old politician, (being an "older" guy myself, I can't remember which one!) "A government that is big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything away."

I think it was Jefferson.

I heard that the "Hunting Group" that asked for the ban is composed of 1 guy.

Maybe I could petition for 2 or 3 wives to be allowed then I could spend my days at the range while they work!
