Lead spitting M28

I have a recent purchase M28 that spits lead. It's drawn blood on my left cheek. Not good.
I think it's a timing issue and would like opinions on sending it in to S&W for repair.

Good idea or not?
Or better to take it locally. Only one Smith near me.
It was bought used btw

Smith & Wesson will correct the problem cheaper (most likely) than a private GS, and they will check everything out.

Call. S&W customer service and arrange to send your 28 in. They will send you a Fex EX label to print out and attach to your package along with packaging instructions.

I had a 625 with the same problem. The forcing cone was cut with a noticeable angle. Really terrible. Setting the barrel back two turns and recutting the forcing cone produced an extremely well mannered and accurate revolver.

It's back at home in Mass. now.
I asked them to fix the main complaint and advise of anything else they find that needs attention.
I also asked that they replace any buggered up screws they may find.
I'm hoping to get a very shootable Model 28 whenever they're done.
