Can anyone recommend a good quality handmade men's belt.Seems the ones you buy in dept.stores last about 6 months and then start coming apart.I realize there are lots of websites ,but at $50.00 up,which one.Western and gun belts are prefered.Thanks.

Check out Lobo Gunleather (Lobo Gun Leather - Home). I just had a new holster for my Model 65-1 made, including a new gun belt. Ray did a FANTASTIC job. The belt is much sturdier than anything you can buy in a store today. I previously wore a Cabela's leather belt, but my new belt made me realize just how poor the old one actually performed. I am working on getting some pics up. Additionally, unlike some other holster makers, Lobo has a blazing fast turn-around time, I had my holster and belt in less than a month. Just my 2 cents.

Kramers Horsehide (double thickness) gun belt is superb and holds its stiffness for a loonnnnnng time. I would only get it in black, as horsehide does not like lighter colored leather dyes (blotchy finish). They are expensive, around $125 or so, but so far I have not fond a better gun belt in my 35 years of toting a shootin' iron.

The cowhide belts I've had over the years start out stiff and rapidly get too soft to properly support a OWB holster. I do not like a really wide gun belt because it screams GUN BELT. I like an 1 1/4" belt that looks like just a plain belt.
I used to laugh when I would see an off duty LEO that was wearing a 1 1/2 - 1 3/4" Bianchi belt with typical "gun belt style" stitching with a suit jacket. Anybody who knew anything knew what was on the belt.

There are cheaper belts on the market, but IMHO none better than the Kramer.

The Beltman has a great reputation, I haven't been willing or able to drop that much on a belt. I've been wearing a Filson belt for a couple years now and it still works like brand new. Got it from LLBean but it looks like they don't carry them anymore, Filson still sells 'em direct:

+1 on "The Beltman". ............. Big Cholla

And don't forget to look at A&G Custom Leather. Outstanding belts and excellent customer service from all accounts. Their "quick ship" line will cover many customers' needs, and put the new belt around your waist faster than just about any other maker.

Ray sent me my new Belt, Holster, and Mag Holders for a 5" 1911 this week, I already have a Commander length holster from him. Great turnaround time and a Forum member to boot. The prices are right TOO.

+1 on Lobogunleather. Ray makes 3 different thickness, and the middle thickness, (i think 3/8") is lined and a great belt. In 1 1/2" make great every day (non business) wear, and holds up a holster very well.

Coach or Trafalgar for me.

Myriad styles/colors.

Very well made, indeed. They can be pricey but look for Coach Outlets or department store sales.

Best part is they don't look like gunbelts. :)

Be safe.

El Paso Saddlery makes nice belts. I have one on my work pants: it's been worn a lot, sweat into often, and carried a variety of hardware and holsters. Still looks nice.

I'm in need of a belt also. I've got one from O'Rourke Holsters that I've owned about ten years that can't be beat, but I've lost a fair amount of weight in the past year, and I've had to punch a hole in it to use it. Leaves a LONG tongue. My waist size is now about a 38, so I don't know what size belt to order, and I'm a little curious about that as well.
