I got some brown leather stains from breaking in my Galco IWB holster on the metal upper along the white "CAUTION: CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED" white lettering.

Any tips how to safely clean brown leather dye stains?
Picture attached but upside down :( but you can see it

THANKS!

The worst that can happen is you take the white out of the letters. There are plenty of techniques for re applying the white to lettering. A search here should give you everything you need to know. Some people purposely remove the white, you might like it without.

That's a new one on me. How did you get dye stains in just that area ? I've never had that problem dealing with leather. Well, not quite. I used to break in new boots getting them wet and wearing them until they were almost dry. I'd get "most" of the dye out of my socks just washing them. Might just try some hot soapy (heavy on the soap) water. NO bleach, just dish soap. Then make sure you wipe it down with oil. Can't hurt to try.

Take a que tip and put some isopropyl alcohol on the cotton end. Rub it on the stain. It should take it off with no problem. Its what I use to remove leather dye from my tools and granite rock when I spill some working on a holster. I use 90% but 70% should work Ethel alcohol will work too. Some of the bore cleaners will remove some of the shine from your finish.

The stain got on when I wet the holster with hot water to shrink fit it to shape around the gun.

I tried the denatured alcohol, and mineral spirits both helped but didn't take it all off.
Finally tried "Goo Gone with Orange oil" and it worked the best! Goo Gone Spray Gel, 12oz
