Many of you sure know your stuff when it comes to gun leather, so I figured this would be a great place to ask for leather (or ?) wallet recommendations.

My wallet philosophy has always been less-is-more, not a big fan of bulky ones. Unless, of course, its stuffed with money, in which case the fatter the better.

Not that it matters, but I carry my wallet in a front pocket due to bad back issues.

Any suggestions?

I like a bi-fold that I use for cards and ID. Cash is carried in a money clip.

This innocent post has gotten so many likes that I had to add some information. I looked for years for just the right wallet. I was forced to use tri-folds and nylon will Velcro and hated them all. I finally found one in Japan of all places. It is made by AKII and I've had it for over 10 years. Shortly after I got it my new wife gave me a wallet. I just threw it in a box and I guess it is around somewhere. A wallet is a pretty personal item to be given as a gift.

I'm liking the Saddleback small bifold. :)

Great suggestions, keep 'em coming please...

Leather wallets have caused me problems. I live and work in the south. In the summer, I will sweat through everything I have on.

US currency that has been in a wet leather wallet fails those counterfeit pen sharpies.

Nothing like being 100 miles from home and can't buy gas because all your money is "counterfeit".

You can spend as much or as little on a wallet as you wish...there's something to fit every lifestyle and budget.

I bought a leather bi-fold at Wal Mart at least fifteen years ago. Can't remember what it cost, but considering that was the year 2000, it was probably less than ten bucks.

I'm still carrying it. No tears, no stitch failures, no rips. Can't beat that with a stick.

m1gunner, I had the same problem and then started carrying my leather wallet in a nylon pouch that attached to my belt. Never again had a problem with sweat getting into my wallet. The wallet was protected from moisture and the nylon pouch had a Velcro cover to keep the wallet safe from loss (and pickpockets). I got the pouch at a gun show, sold as a handcuff case if I remember right.
It's also better for your back not to sit on your wallet (back pocket carry).

That would suck. Never heard of that problem, thanks for the info.

Thanks, will see what I can find.

I've had the same Tumi in my pocket 7 days a week for over 25 years. It shows very little wear. Expensive but worth it.

I've been using a "magic" wallet that I bought while in Antigua. I think if you google magic wallet they may even sell them online. What makes them magic is that you fold your paper money, place in the unfolded wallet and then, when you reopen the wallet the other way, the money ends up under a couple of crossed fabric strips where it stays till you pull the money out. Mine also has pockets on the outside that hold credit cards quite well. As long as you don't stuff it full, you can easily carry it in a front pocket. Unless that's where you carry a nice little Model 60 like I do. Then I just put the wallet in my left hand front pocket and I'm good to go.

I carry a money clip with my credit cards, insurance cards ect with an attached money clip. I CC on my right side and carry my Drivers license, CC License and car insurance card in a separate business card holder that I found .. that is carried in my left back pocket opposite of my weapon. If I am stopped by a LEO I won't be putting my hand near my weapon which I always carry when away from the house.

If ya got the bucks, this one's a beaut. Mens Leather Wallet | Classic Wallet No. 101 Chestnut | Ghurka

Very, very durable, too.

My late FIL believed that you ought to spend money, buy the best, on stuff you use everyday, rather than stuff you only use occasionally. Makes sense to me.

I have been using the above for ten years. Recommended to me by a guy on the forum who no longer posts here.

I carry a small bi-fold that I bought at a road side stand in Oregon back in 1984. It has an outside see through for my drivers license/CCW; an inside see through for my Retired Military ID; three slots for credit cards.

I carry it in my Pocket T-Shirt pocket..............might have to buy me a new one someday!!!:):):):D

That too, and if I only could keep the green stuff inside instead of forming on the outside of my wallet. Saddle soap and an old toothbrush does not work.
