LEE HARVEY OSWALD'S RIFLE

Could never understand why Jack Ruby shot Oswald. Saw it on tv when it happened.

Lots of conspiracy theories about that also, but at least there is no mystery about who shot Oswald. Ruby died before he could spill the beans. All evidence points to the conclusion that it was a spur-of-the-moment inspiration, sort of like "Hey! I think I'll go inside the police station and shoot Oswald before I go back home with my dog."

Having sat in Oswald's sniper nest (before it was roped off in the museum) and looking out where JFK was hit, it was no "miracle shot". I suspect that the majority of the people on this forum could have accomplished it with any decent rifle if they had a mind to.

Your dead on......many I shoot with could have done it with a revolver, I forget the exact now but I'm pretty sure it boiled down to 20 yards, as always the media lied their *** off, he was a USMC sniper blah blah blah.....and it was a spectacular feat of marksmenship, etc .... he "qualified" with a rifle.

I, too, had the opportunity to sit in the window and assume a sniper position before access to the window ceased. Easy shot for a trained Marine shooter. Given the *** Carcano, surprised he hit him at all. I also bought a Carcano and mounted a 4X Tasco scope of that vintage. Rifle wouldn't group. Could barly hit a 55 gal drum at 50 yds consistently. And at that time, not long out of the Corps with beaucoup trigger time and shooting high expert, it wasn't the dope behind the rifle but the dope on the rifle. Never regretted getting rid of that ***! Actually made a fair profit.

Jack Ruby's biography, just like Oswald's before the assassination, is the best argument against any entity, be it the Mafia, the CIA, the Cubans, or whoever else, using him for the kind of complex conspiracy that would have been required to organize JFK's killing (if it were anything more than what it was).

According to most accounts, the guy was emotional, a blabbermouth, a braggard, a loser, his nightclubs were failing, and in contrast to Oswald he had four years after the event to spill any beans if there were any; instead, he just mumbled nonsensical stuff meant to sound mysterious. People who knew him seem to agree that there was no way he would have kept his mouth shut; there simply wasn't anything in his life worth leveraging against his silence.

OK, it's time I got this off my chest but I know I'm risking my life doing it. There's those who would silence me if I spoke up, but I must. I know who REALLY killed JFK and why. It was...Hey! Whose there? My god, how did you find me! Put down the gun!! No!! Don't shoo...............

Consider, if you will, for a moment, the myriad pronunciations of the rifle's name; "Carcano". Does that not seem "suspicious" to you? Is that not reason enough for some deep thinker to conjure up another kooky conspiracy theory?

A number of years back Massad Ayoob did an article on if it was feasible for Oswald to get off the shots in the time recorded back then.
He did, and he said it was have been even easier for Oswald. He shot the run as LHO would have, left handed..... which meant LHO never had to take his eye off the scope or finger off the trigger... But the Commision never covered that LHO was left handed.....
