LOOK AT SIMPLY RUGGED. I'M A LEFTY. I USE THEIR SOURDOUGH PANCAKE, CROSSDRAW FOR MY 4" N FRAMES. I'M SURE THEY COULD MAKE UP A FLAPJACK OR A SOURDOUGH FOR YOUR 500 MAGNUM. GREAT MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP, REASONABLE PRICE……...

I do not know what you consider expensive, I went with Black Hills Leather, standard hip holster for a 4" and also fits the 2 3/4 inch. Very nice, good quality, quick turn around time. It can be made with or with out a thumb break I believe. Check them out. Be Safe,

I don't think you're going to find a "Good" holster for a 500 magnum for $100. You got a big expensive gun there don't go cheap on a holster. I went to Diamond D and got their chest holster, however they do make belt holsters also. 7X Leather also makes some quality stuff, you won't go wrong with either.

Remember......"The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten” – Benjamin Franklin

I agree with Bobthegod as far as a holster for your X frame. You are going to pay for a quality leather holster any way you look at it. Looking at other sites that make quality leather holsters that will fit your X frame, you are going to pay $100 or more. You also didn't say what kind of holster you want either, or what barrel length you need.

I don't think you would like wearing the .500 on your belt for any length of time.....the weight of it will work you over in short order.
I made a pancake for a fella..6" bbl if my memory serves me....I tried talking him out of it but he insisted. Sure enough I got an email from him asking for support suggestions. We decided to give suspenders a try. He says they help but still weighs him down when walking around in the woods.
I would suggest a chest rig.....or a baldrick of some sort attached to the belt for support....or maybe something like this:
