I have a friend who is crazy about my 15-22. Problem is he is left handed. What do lefties do about shell casings being thrown at their face? Is there a model for left handlers?

No I don't think so but I've seen some members here make shell deflectors... I'm sure you'll get some response to your question and maybe some pics too...:D

I personally do not have a problem with the 15-22 or others. They mostly fly straight across in front of me and I have not experienced being hit by flying brass.

Then your arm is too high, needs to be tucked in tight! If you don't believe me ask Chris Costa from Magpul!!!!

My arm is where I like it, and where it should be when using an AGF2 properly. Remember, I shoot left-handed. Otherwise there would be no way brass could be hitting my forearm.

You mean this Chris Costa?

I was blessed with the following:
Right
Throw/Hit baseball
Write
Golf
Fire handgun

Left
Fire rifle/shotgun
Play pool (hold cue)
Guitar
Fish (casting)

I've resigned myself to the fact that a little molten gunpowder in the face is a character builder...

I never get hit in the face, just the arm. I wear long sleeves to prevent burns from the cases.

Haha, yea I guess if you hold it like that but I have all the magpul videos and he preaches holding the elbow in and would say if you don't want your arm shot off in a fire fight. Nice pic, that's funny you found a pic like that, I hope you don't always shoot like that, I know I couldn't.

Switch the safety to the right side, wear long sleeves, enjoy!!!

I'm left handed and I don't have a problem shooting my 15-22 or any other ARs for that matter. The deflector does its job and I don't take any brass to the face. Rarely, some brass will hit my arm but I hardly notice it. Hope this helps you out.

Since you're right handed and he's left-handed, he should probably buy you an ambidextrous safety, charging handle, and mag release.;)

I grew up shooting bolt action hunting rifles. Holding the forend out towards the sling stud always produced the best accuracy shooting freehand. For me, it's the same with the AR platform. It also makes 5.56 feel like .22lr when you're double tapping. You would think the extended arm would get fatigued easier, but it doesn't. I can hold steady a lot longer that way.

It does look kind of goofy when I see someone else shooting that way. It looks like he's trying to change the channel with his rifle. :)

You must be watching OLD videos then. This is the new cool aid when it comes to shooting AR's.

Google image search "Chris Costa" and most of the rifle pics he's doing that.

I'm a lefty and have no issues with my 15-22 or AR ejecting shells back in my face, they go straight out to the right. Now I have had a couple deflect off the lane dividers at the indoor range and go down my back inside my shirt, that was a little burny

A large portion of tactical shooters and real operators shoot the way shown in the picture. This allows for quicker muzzle-to-target movement without over-swinging. And most will also tell you that it's not a position that you would hold for a very long time, only when shooting. Not for clearing.

Get a new friend...Anyone who whines about this minor inconvience needs to move on to say, tiddle winks.

He wasn't whining merely asking a question. You mean to tell me if there were such a thing as a left side eject left handers would not be all over that!

Seems to already be answered, but I'll say as a left handed shooter, my 15-22 does NOT throw brass in my face when firing. I have worse brass in my face with my M-14.
