Yep, you dog owners be careful out there. Seems there may be a way for those less scrupulous barristers to turn mans best friend into a client. :)

I've done that with my dog , he knows it's only half so he waits for the other half , then when he gets the other half he knows it's just half so waits for the third " half" haha
He gives me a look like I'm holding out and groans when he lays down to keep an eye on me in case I make good ;-)

Peanut butter works great for pills with dogs. Given the prices they charge for a certain brand of dog treat, darn right I break them in half. A saltine (or cheap knock off) with a schmeer of peanut butter works great as a treat, but you can't carry them in your pockets. Warning: dogs learn the rustle of the wrapper on the crackers and will want their share anytime you're snacking.

I make my own dog treats and they are loved by every dog who has been given them. I bake them about once a month so I can give them to the neighbor's dogs. Here is the recipe.

Liver Dog Treat Biscuits

3 cups Flour
½ cup Chicken broth
½ lb. Finely chopped chick Liver (Beef liver can be substituted)
(I use a blender or food processor to reduce the livers to a pulp.)
2 tsps Vegetable oil
1 tsps Bacon Drippings
1 Egg - lightly beaten
2 tsps Chopped parsley (Optional)

Preheat oven to 400 F.
In mixing bowl, beat egg with oil and bacon drippings. Then add broth & parsley, mix well. Fold in livers and mix well. (Baking of the treats cooks the liver.)
Add flour to bowl, a little at a time, stirring well. Dough will be firm. (if sticky, add a bit more flour.)
Turn dough out on lightly floured surface and knead briefly. Roll out ¼ " thick and cut into shapes.
Place on greased cookie sheet ½" apart.
Bake 15 min. or until firm.
Since the biscuits have cooked meat in them, store in refrigerator or freezer.

When are you making the next batch? I'm coming over and I don't own a dog.

Damn, that sounds pretty good. Put a little hot mustard and a sweet pickle slice on them and yer good to go.
