I have a party in Muskogee Oklahoma that wants to ship a weapon to me, here in Reno Nevada.

1st party has no idea how, I lost my FFL (?) store when the Reno trap club closed down.

How do I go about finding places that will accept weapons for this shipment to work?

I will post a picture of the little sweetheart if it ever makes it.

Thanks for any help.

This might be a little better.

FFL Finder: Find an FFL Dealer In Your Area at GunBroker.com

Googling FFL will give you all of them, but some FFLs won't accept transfers. The ones listed on that gunbroker page have already agreed that they will. I know I used them, once, when the dealer I normally used (kitchen table dealer) was out of state for a couple weeks on vacation. Most dealers listed even show their fees to receive.

I left something out.................

it is a old black powder side by side.

Guy at Cabela's said it can be shipped regular mail c/o UPS or FedX.
This would make things a lot easier............. if true.
No taxs, BG checks, Fees or paper work needed.

Is this statement correct?

An "old black powder shotgun" sounds like the kind of gun you would get from an "Oakie from Muskogee".

"Old black powder".

OLD - if is was made before 1899, it is, by Federal definition, NOT A GUN, and can be sent directly to you. No FFL needed.

BLACK POWDER - if it is cap-n-ball - NON-CARTRIDGE - it don't matter how old it is, by Federal definition, NOT A GUN, and can be sent directly to you, no FFL involved.

SHOTGUN - as a long gun, it does NOT have to be sent FedEx or UPS, OR NEXT-DAY-AIR. Your guy can mail it directly to your FFL, or use the other guys, and just tell them, "lowest and slowest". Takes about two, maybe three days from Florida to Texas, so Oklahoma to Nevada should be faster. You still have to have an FFL receive it (unless it is either pre-1899 or cap-n-ball), but it's an easier ship. Also, based on my experience, FedEx will ground-ship a long gun for about 20 bucks, while the good old Post Office wants 25.
