Wonder where they are coming from. A letter may make a thrifty purchase even more interesting.

A bunch of these have shown up again in the last couple months. I picked one up from a different seller for around $275. I love it.

No idea where they came from though - frame dates 1998 according to SW. The barrel has the newer, larger stamped “9MM” on the chamber which seems like it started around 2004-2005 production based on my other 3rd gen’s. Mine was made in Springfield, but the seller said some were Houlton as well. Definitely a used gun cosmetically, but it was pretty clean.

Really no idea what the deal was with these - it doesn’t seem like RCMP and they aren’t NYPD.

Bryan from AIM said they got them second hand, so no idea where from.

RCMP is still looking for a new pistol, so likely wouldn’t see these until after adoption. Doubt Canada will surplus them… likely toss in the shredder. And even if they were, “RCMP/GRC” on the slide would be easy to spot.

I’m back/forth on picking one up. I have a 1006. A 5946 really isn’t anything I need.

I’d bet we will never see the RCMP units. If we are lucky they’ll part them out and only scrap the frames.

Well it's not like they can wear them out, RCMP could use for another 100 yrs!
