So my local fun store has quite a few ex-LEO trade-ins in the used gun case, H&K, Glock, Beretta and some Sigs. A couple caught my attention because they were in pretty good shape and the prices seemed reasonable.

The first was a .40 Sig 226 with DAK trigger. Faded night sights and 3 mags $425 OTD.

The other was a .40 Sig 229 with traditional double action trigger. Faded night sights and 2 mags $470 OTD.

Anyone have any comments on these guns or pricing? I'm thinking about jumping on one.

FYI - the cheapest guns were the 2nd and 3rd gen Glock 21s and 22s. About $375 OTD.

Yes get one or two, i have a 226 in .40 and i bought a 357 sig barrel for it. that is a good price.

i have a lightly used 229 in .40

if theyre in red boxes theyre refurbished by sig

I have a G22 and a 357 Sig barrel==likely will get a 9mm barrel eventually. Love the 357=converted my G27 as well.

Those aren't bad prices depending on condition. Most of these guns show quite a bit of holster wear but are in great condition otherwise. I picked up a stainless HK USP 40 w/ LEM trigger for $432 OTD a couple of weeks back at our local cop store. They had a few DAK Sigs there at comparable prices. If you like DAK triggers (I do) then you can find good deals on police trade ins.

I had a Sig P226 in .40 S&W a few years ago. It was nice, but I prefer the P229 model, as it is similar to my P228. Sigs are fine handguns, I own seven. Sig magazines are costly, though plentiful and easily found. There is a wide range of holsters available for them as well. Add a .357 Sig barrel for long range shooting.

I prefer the traditional DA/SA trigger over the DAK. Four of my Sigs are true DAO. The trigger pills are consistent.

I picked up the P229, or at least I will after the 3 day wait we have to deal with hear. It comes in the original light blue plastic Sig case with the lock and paperwork.

I almost picked up the P226 too...

I think that's a descent price, especially from a gun shop. Hope you like yours as much as I like mine. My 229/40 was a little more, but I made up for that a few months back & picked up a 226 for just over $400 after ship & xfer. No dak, but really exc. condition.

Prices on the .40's has plummeted. I thinks it's a great time to buy. Same gun in 9mm, add another 100 or two.
