My 2nd Super 38.

This one is a Super Commanche. The fit is a wonder. I have never had Les' sights like these, they are dead and will be headed off to be re-lamped.

I haven't shot it yet, but will very soon.

Anyone have a Les like this? I am thinking that in needs some Wilson Combat magazines.

Nice! A Stinger has been pecking at my mind as a carry gun...I am sorting thru what is left in the vault thinking "what do I have to sell?" to get one. I sold some "almost right" 1911's I had collected over the years, and was able to buy a Les Baer 1911 in .45 acp. It made me realize that Les (Baer) is more!

My two weaknesses in the firearms world are S&W revolvers and Baer 1911s. I am aware of Baer using that sight, perhaps made by LPS?, all mine have fixed sights.

Congrats! I'm sure it'll be a great shooter.

While I do own many firearms chambered in 38SUPER, both of my Les Baer's are 45 ACP

That includes my Comanche which is a Concept 7

I did replace the checkered LB grips for some Kim Ahrends' smooth Amboyna Burl

On my other LB (a now discontinued Target Master LS) LB was kind enough to make a set of smooth LB logoed grips for the firearm

I always think about adding another one to the stable

I'm jealous! I have an old Thunder Ranch Special from clear back when Thunder Ranch was still in Texas, but I've always thought I would like to pick up a .38 Super Stinger. I have 38 Supers, I have Les Baer, I just don't have a .38 Super Les Baer. Now I may again be inspired to try to remedy that situation.

I've never owned a LB. But I've fired my friend's long slide 45. That pistol felt like one solid piece of metal, not like a bunch of parts put together like every other 45 I've ever fired. I have a couple of 1911s. They don't feel like a Les Baer. My 45s shoot real well. But to shoot my friends Les Baer was like being guaranteed you will be putting the bullet exactly where you wanted.

***A small detail that I've always appreciated was 1911 grips that don't have the pin cut-out/semi circle on the bottom rear. Those type grips just look classier, I think.

I have several 38Super's , but my favourite is my S&W Doug Koenig . It's put's my Colt GCNM Super Elite to shame . I prefer Chip McCormick mags for my 1911 38Supers , they're not that expensive . Excuse the pic with the 1911in it . It's the only pic I have of my GCNM Super Elite .

Very nice!

Another LB fan and I reminded Les when visiting with him at SHOT. I'd like to add a 38 super to my CC, PII and newly acquired Police Special. Although I have EBs and Guncrafter, etc., I think LB sits at the point of diminishing return for 1911 value, with DW a close second.

I'm admittedly a bit out of touch with the 1911 market these days but I've always had the same impression. If you find one you like, Baer pistols do a pretty good job of striking a balance, IMO. I've always liked the standard Premier II model and bought my first one about thirty years ago, as an alternative to my Colt GC. I've hardly used the Gold Cup since then. It was a bit over one thousand bucks back then, from Gil Hebard Guns. At the time I thought it was an enormous amount of money for a pistol, but I've gotten a lot of good out of it. Congratulations on your new .38 Super. :)
