Lesson today with cleaning and lubricating

Knowledge. Pat Rogers had a bunch of ARs he used for classes, especially military folks. He was opposed to the fetishistic cleaning that he and others were taught in the military. He would often let his rifles go well into 5 digits with only lube and had no problems. He kept copious notes and photos from class experiences and used those for teaching selection and maintenance. 1500 rounds without cleaning is a very low threshold. That would be about the round count in a carbine class. There is a reason why he advocated Bravo Company products. When you see 50K rounds down range years, the lessons matter.

There is also a vid from ... 15 years ago in which a top flight completion shooter (Rob Leatham?) stated very explicitly that a pistol that will not run flawlessly when duty but lubed is broken.
