Let do a Model 25 thread(Just model marked 25's)

On this forum we see pre model 25's, model 25's and several 25-2's. Now I'm not sure if there isn't even a 25-1 out there somewhere.

So lets see how many Model 25's are out there.
This is a 6 1/2" with target hammer,trigger and stocks, it left the factory October 1961.


That's the box that came with it, not numbered and I don't think it's the correct style.

George here is a gun to answer a couple of your questions.
It is a 1955 Model marked 5 inch shipped to Texas. it is marked as a
-1 and then it was over stamped to a -2 the serial number is S-227720
which puts it in the -1 series. I have the factory letter and the original box numbered to the gun.
It is the only one known in this serial number range the barrel was cut at the factory as the letter shows.

There were 9 other 5 inch that were in the 5 screw models and were all shipped a one time.

Jim what style ejector rod does it have ?

Mine also has a cut barrel and is close in serial number 228428.
It is a 25-2

I bought a pristine Model 25 in .45acp this past spring. Mine looks just like yours, except it came with the small Magna grips. I didn't get a matching box for it. Mine is a '61. Superb shooter. One of these days I will send off for a letter from Mr. Jinks for it.

Boys, I just traded George back for this one last Thursday. Am sure glad I got her back. 6 1/2" Bbl., faint turn line, in really good shape. Proud to be the holder of her for a while. I hope this one fits into the title of the thread? 25-2, serial #N378591 puts it about 1978?

Hey Jim: Putting aside the delusion I would be able to afford to buy that 5" if you sold it, and the very limited possibility you could be persuaded to sell it, I would love to know if you measured the dimensions of the chambers and what they are. Related - how does it shoot?

Let's add a little more interest to this thread. This revolver was factory built in 1963 for Skeeter Skelton from parts as he requested. The barrel and cylinder were from a 1950 .45 Colt and the frame is a double serial number marked item from 1959. It shoots better than any other .45 Colt that I've fired.

Here's my 25-5 with an auxiliary 625 cylinder fitted and cut for moon clips only because I didn't want to modify the original cylinder and have some fun with the fitment. Idea for the modified cylinder came from other members of this site.

Here is a very early Version of the S&W Mountain Gun in .45 Colt Caliber it is a model 25-13. They were made in 2006 Only and only One per stocking S&W stocking dealer was ever made. Here is mine shown with it's factory Ahrends Cocobolo wood stock's. I feel the Fit, & bluing of this gun is very nice considering it's time frame of manufacture. Regards, Hammerdown
