As we stand on the brink of a new year, let's count our blessings. '21 was another tough year for me. But I am truly blessed, and hoping and praying that '22 will be better. My health is pretty good and I still have my Dad and some wonderful friends. I have a home and am retired. I live in small town USA. I have food and drink. And 1.5 cats. Shaggy still has not moved all the way in. I even get to shoot my Smiths once in a while. PTL! What do you all count as blessings and any hopes for the new year?

I have so much to be grateful for I cannot begin to list it all, and I try to live my life in gratitude for all the blessings that have been bestowed on me.

There is one blessing in particular this past year that stands out...

My family is very small. My mother was an only child, and my father had one sister. Neither of my brothers has ever had children, so my two sons are the only ones carrying on the family name.

Last July, my younger son and his wife presented me with my first and only grandchild. It warms my heart more than I can say to know that our family will continue for at least one more generation...

Another year gone. A new one to look forward to. Visited my grandson & his wife last week, they had us for Christmas. Great time was had by all except trying to get home over the Sierras. Took 7 hours that normally takes 2 hours. They notified us that they will become parents come June.. What a wonderful Christmas present for my daughter & son in law. Me also, this will make #7 great grand child for me. Wish my wife was still here for the enjoyment. Guess I must look for another 22 rifle for the new one. LOL
