Absent Comrade
How about a poll of favorite feel good movies, the kind of flicks that leave you smiling when the closing credits roll.
Some of my favorites, in no particular order:
"The African Queen" (Bogart at his best); "The Gray Fox" (Richard Farnsworth, a charming lady as his love interest, and gorgeous scenery); "The Full Monty" (great ensemble cast of Brits I didn't know); and "Cocoon" (a gaggle of old pros and wonderful direction by Ron Howard).
I should include "The Addams Family", with its really inspired casting, and "The Sting". "The Hunt For Red October", if you can live with a Lithuanian submarine captain in the Russian Navy, played by a Scot who uses the same accent in everything he does.
And lest we forget. "Monty Python And The Holy Grail", or their "Life of Brian" with the most hilariously twisted ending in the history of movies.
Jump in, folks.
