Max Soviak, a 2017 graduate of Edison High School, Berlin Heights, Ohio, was identified as the Navy Hospital Corpsman who was killed in an attack at the Kabul airport.

As a Vietnam veteran I remember watching TV in 1975 when helicopters were evacuating our embassy in Saigon.

I remember ARVN Sergeant Tranh, our unit interpreter while I was in Vietnam, and his family. Stories about the re-education camps and purges, executions.

I see dozens of other veterans at the VFW post every week, some retired, some disabled. Difficult to know what to say or how to respond.

Sad times. Nuff said.

I still wonder out the Vietnamese workers and the RVAF guys the we worked with and trained. They were good people.
