We can talk til' blood comes out ears but does that mean Congress
and the self appointed Czar in the Big White house on Penn. Ave.
are going to listen and be reasonable? Have they in the last 4
years ? I'll remain a little skeptical thanks.
Like i said, we all need to make ourselves heard on these issues
being debated. Whether or not we are listened to is another
matter......

I think we need to step back, take a deep breath and see how this plays out. There is still a Republican house and there are many Dems who represent very pro gun districts and pro gun states who have to face the voters. Gun owners are not exactly in the minority either. I have seen estimates of 300-500 million guns in the US alone. I think I have read where 60% + of all households own at least one gun, maybe even a higher percentage.

Unless obama has declared himself Czar I think that he has to follow some sort of rules. And again there are a lot of folks that must face voters, ask for re election money etc.

We may take some hits but lets support the NRA, let the representatives know that this was as bad as it gets but if someone flips out and wants to do harm they are going to find a weapon somewhere no matter what you ban. Focus on the true root cause. I have grand kids too and I know that it must really hurt but step back and don't over react.

Well you make some valid points for sure. BUT! when it comes to AR's and and high cap. mags I think we are screwed! They have to ban them with all this out cry. Confiscation may not be on the table"yet" but you cn ret assure they will outlaw high cap. mags, and don't get caught with them on your person.

Oh and please stop drinking the NRA coolaid!

I have been reading posts like this all over various firearm forums. What I keep on hearing from folks on our side is all the logical arguments against gun control. Folks logic has NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! Our foe (the current crop in Washington) sees this as the opportunity that it needs to take away our freedoms. PLAIN AND SIMPLE! It has zero to do with public safety. They could care less about it. It has everything to do with removing our ability to stand against them. Make no mistake this is how they view it.

In response to your post, I believe you pretty much hit the nail squarely on the head. I truly believe that even if someone were to come up with a fool proof plan that could surely stop all this senseless gun violence, the so called "current crop in Washington" along with all those lefties out there would continue to argue that there is only one soloution - take all guns away from the public. Logic has done gone out the window in this country and I doubt it will ever return.
