Smith&Wesson handguns have always been, and always will be my favorite guns to collect. As I've been downsizing my collection, I've decided to keep just these three non Smith&Wesson revolvers till the end. Downsizing has been hard, but these three revolvers are my favorite. Top to bottom, A 1960 2nd Gen Colt SAA 7 1/2" 45 Colt, A 1957 Ruger 44 Magnum 6 1/2" Flattop (with Ruger Factory Stag Grips), and finally a 1993 Colt 357 Stainless Steel 6" Python. All 3 of these guns are in excellent condition and have their original boxes and paperwork (not shown). Since these are my favorite, lets see your favorite non Smith&Wesson Revolvers.

Most of my collection are Rugers. But my Interarms era Rossi M720 44 SPL is one of my favorite guns. 3" bbl that is a nice balance between 20 oz lightweight Charter Bulldogs, 36 oz Ruger GP100 44 SPL and too expensive for my current budget S&W 44 Specials.

My favorite non S&W revolver is My Linebaugh Custom Sixguns .475 Linebaugh. I shoot it often with 385gr cast LBT traveling about 900FPS out of the 5.5 inch barrel. It is responsible for two elk and several hogs.

My only non S&W revolvers are these two Chapuis made 6" Manurhins, a .357 MR 73 Sport and a MR 32 Match.

The .32 is an awesome target revolver.

There are many fine revolvers in my safe, it is difficult to pick a single favorite

Obviously many Colt Pythons are going to be mentioned. My 2 1/2" Ultimate stainless Python had the Walt Sherman roller bearing action and it amazing to shoot double action

The Dan Wessons are fantastically acurate revovlers. I like them in both 357 SuperMag and 41 Magnum.

I do have this amazing Colt that Bob Munden built for me many years ago

It is hard for me to believe, but Colt, Dan Wesson and Smith & Wesson make up 90%+ of the revolvers that I own

There are several Taurus snubbies and one of the USFA 12-22s, a Fredom Arms 454, but not much else comes to mind.

I like the Colt D-frames almost as much as the S&W J-frames.

Same with the Colt E-frames and the S&W K-frames.

Oh, and I like British .38 topbreaks. Not necessarily for their beauty, though :)

I like my 4" Ruger SP101 357 Magnum. The grips are JaruwanP's and a Sourdough pancake holster.
It came new with the rubber/wood insert grips but these fill my large hand much more to my liking.

Colt MKIII Border Patrol

This is the only non S&W revolver I own. It was purchased new in 1972 by my Father. This and a Colt Woodsman Match Target are what got me interested in the shooting sports. Still have and shoot both.

I'm FAR too busy sniffing corks, to admit to owning any of these mutt-guns. (J/K)

I can't really pick a single favorite Smith revolver, much less a favorite non-Smith revolver.

You'd have better luck asking me to pick a favorite motorcycle (yeah, right) or my favorite child (nope).

YOU HAVE AN AWESOME COLLECTION OF FIREARMS. I AM ALSO A HUGE FAN OF COLT DA REVOLVERS. I WILL POST A COUPLE OF PYTHONS, LATER ON ON THIS THREAD.....

IMHO, TAURUS FIREARMS DO NOT DESERVE TO EXIT IN THE RAREFIED AIR OF YOUR GUN SAFE....

NO DISS TO YOU INTENDED. I ONCE SUNK TO AN ALL-TIME LOW OF OWNING 3---LURED IN BY THEIR LOW PRICE, AND VIUAL APPEAL. I WAS FORTUNATE TO SELL THEM, FOR LESS THAN 1/2 OF WHAT I PAID FOR THEM. RATHER THAN BEING ANGRY---I WAS ELATED AT BEING RID OF THEM......

Here are my non-smiths.
Colt Trooper .357
Colt Commando .38
Colt Lawman MKiii .357
Colt Frontier Scout .22 Duotone
Colt...?!? Was sold to me as an Officers Model Match but is somewhat of a mystery! Has a heavy bull barrel (with no markings), bluing matches throughout, has adjustable sights and an amazing trigger. I would have sold this frankengun but it is the best shooting .22 revolver I have ever picked up hands down. Wish I knew more about it!

Taurus Judge Magnum.

56609-albums2489-picture320250.jpg

I bought this because my brother owned a Judge which upon handling made me want one, plus my brother had some boxes of Federal Premium .410 Handgun 000 Buck 3" shells he had purchased by mistake which wouldn't fit his standard Judge, so I purchased the "Magnum" version with a longer cylinder and took the ammo off his hands.

It's extremely fun to shoot, and far more accurate than many folks assert that it must be due to the shallow rifling/freebore with .45 Long Colt.

FOR DECADES BEFORE I OWNED MY FIRST S&W, I OWNED AND SHOT COLT DA REVOLVERS, EXCLUSIVELY. BELOW ARE 2 OF MY FAVES.....

THE 8" WAS PURCHASED NEW, WHEN SAMPLES WERE BEING SENT OUT TO GUN WRITERS. AN FFL THAT I KNEW, HAD AN IN AT COLT. HE PROCURED 2 OF THEM---ONE FOR ME, AND ONE FOR HIMSELF. THEY WEREN'T COMMONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL MANY MONTHS LATER.....

THE 4" STAINLESS REVOLVER IS A PYTHON ELITE---THE VERY LAST ITERATION OF THE PYTHONS. THEY WERE MANUFACTURED IN THE COLT CUSTOM SHOP. MINE WAS ORDERED WITH THE "ULTIMATE BRIGHT POLISH" FINISH AND THE "SERVICE TUNED ACTION" WHICH LIGHTENS THE TRIGGER PULL, BUT GUARANTEES RELIABLE IGNITION WITH ANY BRAND OF FACTORY AMMO.....

A couple years ago I would have had to sit this thread out. However, I'm not ashamed of my Colt collection and I'm really fond of my 4 inch Colt Diamondback in 22lr. Its not a safe queen as it does get carried and shot in the field from time to time.

The Colt Magnum Carry also gets a nod for one of the best non Smith revolvers ever made, mine sports a set of Herretts when its not wearing the factory Hogues.
