As you are aware, or may not be aware, not all pizza's are the same. Pizza styles, like class and taste, are a regional thing. Those with impeccable taste know pizza isn't pizza unless it's a New York pizza; some from Chicago beg to differ. For some I'm afraid, pizza is DiGiorno or Red Baron; anyway, pick your favorite regional style, and tell us what toppings you like on your pizza.:)

I like Chicago style the best. Whole wheat crust, topped with fresh spinach, basil, tomatoes, garlic, and olives.

But I usually end up with a New York style topped with sausage peppers and tomatoes.

I don't know much about different pizza styles, I like a thin crust but not a cracker crust. It needs a rich tomato sauce, but don't over do it on the sauce. lots of cheese, pepperoni, sausage and a boiled egg in the center. oh and some red pepper flakes. And a couple of cold Rolling Rocks.

New York is THE only pizza. I will eat Chicago or Sicilian. None of those funky New Wave things.:p

My homemade (crust also)is of course the best. We like Italian sausage, mushrooms, artichoke hearts. lots of fresh Mozzarella and some Parmesan. Homemade sauce. Italian spices etc.

We will also throw on black olives. Mrs Rule likes onions and peppers also, Depends on what we have around.

Your choices have me confused.

As I understand it, NY style is thin with the sauce under the toppings, while Chicago is thick and has the sauce on top of the toppings.

But Neapolitan and Hawaiian are topping types.

So, are you asking about toppings or styles?

I prefer a semi-thin crust. Not the "thin crispy" type, but also not as thick as on Pizza Hutts "Sicilian Pan Pizza". I'm a fan of Hungry Howie's garlic crust. Three cheese is better than just mozzarella. Toppings - I'm a meat kinda guy, although pepperoni gives me gas. Ham and pineapple is a great combo, and so is a taco-pizza, which has lettuce, tomato and onions on it. But aside from those two, keep the vegetables in the salad where they belong, and off my pizza.

Our homemade pizza is the best forget the burnt crust store bought stuff. Our receipe has been handed down for generations in my family from Naples, Italy.

No, Neapolitan is a style known throughout Italy and the rest of the world; thin crust but puffy/light/airy on the edges and small in size. Chicago pizza, last I was there, have all their toppings on top...of course, laying on a glob of sauce over the whole thing can be done. The premise behind pizza, all pizza, is the same...rolled thin or thick dough, sauce of choice on top, cheese, veggies, meats added. Now, how it's cooked makes the difference, wood fired ovens, stone hearth gas or wood fueled, traditional gas fired pizza ovens, etc.

Well you didn't even include "Other" this time :(

There is a type of Regional Pizza only available South of Boston
Its locally know as Bar or Pub Pizza

Its available from such Legendary Watering Holes as

Buddy's Union Villa
Cape Cod Cafe
Tip Top Cafe
Lynwood Cafe
& a few others

The pizzas are small, thin crusted, should be crispy:
sauce and cheese should not distract from the crust.

They also usually have a Family Restaurant separate from the bar
that does a brisk business

So its Not just for filling up by heavy drinkers

You're right...there are bars/pubs that have a flair for that just in time pizza, that for whatever reason, tastes real good; then again, after an evening of bench pressing 20 oz draft beers, a 3 day old slice of Wonder Bread topped with ketchup, velveeta and sliced Slim Jim's and baked in a toaster oven would probably taste great as well.:p

what ever style this is...................

thin crust, green pepper, onion, mushroom, garlic and double cheese...
hot & a lot...

I checked every box, since I've never met a pizza I didn't like. Although I think thin crust "NY style" is the best.

Marco's Hawaiian chicken with extra sauce (has pineapples). Don't know what category that fell into, so I picked Hawaiian.

The thing about a New York pizza is that it's the only pizza I know that does not require extra cheese and additional toppings to make it a pizza fit for a king. The cheese is always plentifull, it's sauced just right with the right Italian spices, and the crust, while thin, is not cracker like, but firm enough to eat the way a slice should be eaten...folded; and with the orangey oil running down your wrist that says autentico.

Bravissimo piasan, mangia! :)

You forgot the Town Spa. Although the last couple of years Lynwood has been better. I'll have to try Buddy's one of these days. I've lived five minutes from there for 30 years and never gone inside.

NY style. If you need a fork, it's not pizza. If you can't fold it, it's not pizza. If it's square, it's not pizza!

Here's the one I made last night. I was experimenting with a new wheat crust. Not too bad.. Generally I make it with a garlic butter crust.

That don't look to bad for an experiment.

I am not sure I have had a "real" pizza. I am use to the big name delivery joints. That being said the best pizza I remember eating was at Uno's Pizza. I looked online and they are a Chicago style place. I guess I like Chicago pizza the best.

Bianchi's pizza, Revere MA

We are talking Italian I hope.

NY Pizza all the way. BUT in central and northern Westchester County, I can't find any!!!!! Lots of imposters but no REAL pizza here.

Ladder13 - anything good up there in Putnam.

Chris, Cacciatores on 6N right near Lake Mahopac, Sal's Pizza on Rt6 across from Putnam Plaza( Hannafords supermarket), and there's a little place in Mohegan Lake across from the firehouse near the new Asian restaurant. They're good pizza joints.
I'm kind of picky :D. I DO miss my Bronx pizza :(
