Let's Talk Pizza

I had kind of given up on pizza because I can't digest tomatoes and the typical white sauce is lame, but a little googling and experimenting and most of all, good, fresh ingredients....I think I've eaten more pizza in the last two months than in the previous ten years.

So are you saying your not having trouble with tomatoes now? I hope that's the case! If I couldn't have tomatoes I wouldn't be a happy camper!:D

I remember Godfather's Pizza in Arkansas, I think. They also had a chain(at lest in Little Rock)called Shotgun Sam's, which was OK.

Best pizza I've ever had....

A long time ago was a local outfit called "Village Inn Pizza" that had the best everything. I even remember how good their salads were!

Our local Pizza Hut still makes good pizzas, all of them aren't as good as this one.

When I was in NJ I had an authentic NJ pizza that was AWFUL. A big pile of greasy onions. The kid that served me was really nice and I didn't want to make him feel bad so I got the rest of it in a to-go box to take back to the hotel. On the way I had to find a dumpster behind a store to throw it in because it was stinking up the car so bad.

PS: A sad story. We've been regular customers at out Pizza hut for 30 years. They stopped taking checks because so many people were ripping them off, but we were on the 'Good Customer List' because we never wrote a bad check. Now they don't take ANY checks.:(

This should not need repeating, but a well constructed pizza is a perfect food, one which includes all the food groups, most notably grease and salt, essential to the maintenance of weight and blood pressure.

Pizza in a box....

Kraft used to sell a box with ingredients. You had to pound the dough and let it rise. There was a big can of tomato sauce, cheese and a little pack of herbs. Then you put your own toppings on. Pepperoni was in the can with the sauce. MAN THOSE WERE GOOD.
