Yesterday I attended a benefit auction and was surprised to find out that a local gun dealer had donated a brand new, still in the shrink wrap plastic cover Leupold VX II 3-9x riflescope. I have not bought any scopes recently, but was able to get this one for $200. Was this a reasonable price for this scope??

Yes it was since dealer is around $248. :cool:

Great scope at a great price. Good snag but better yet, good on the dealer that donated it for the benefit of a good cause.

FYI- Leupold's are great scopes with a lifetime warranty and the VXII models can have the reticle changed out if you want (for a price). I had my 3x9x40mm VXII reticle changed to a heavy cross-hair because my old eyes were having problems seeing the thin lined cross-hair in low light conditions.
Leupold makes a nice sunshade for their scopes if you ever need one. Just get a nice set of scope cover caps and be careful cleaning the glass. Enjoy your new scope and keep 'em in the 10 ring!
 
I paid $285 for mine.
I've seen them as high as $329 locally.

For $200 you got a bargain.
 
Thanks everyone for the input on the scope. I didn't think it was a bad price for a quality item like that. That money went to help a family whose 3 year old daughter had a liver transplant and chemo treatments because she has liver cancer. The auction raised over $8,000 to assist them with medical bills and travel expenses. I do not exaggerate when I say they have been through hell and back, but she is doing better thanks to God and good doctors. Please pray for her and her family. God bless you all!
