Lever action .357

p8riot, that looks like a winner! Hope you like yours as much as I like mine. I shoot either 38 specials or 357 through mine, seems like it feeds both equally well, but I have not tried a wide variation of bullet shapes. Mine is sitting in the closet right now here at the cabin loaded with my .38 spl reloads using a 158 gr LSWC hardcast bullet. They feed reliably, and shoot to point of aim at 50 yards. This makes a great companion for my early model 28 that is my woods roaming sidearm du jour!!

Be sure and let us know how you like your new model 92!!

Best Regards, Les

I am not a Henry fan but not because of issues or reliability. The Henry's are actually smooth and function fairly well for the most part. What I do not like about them is what they are made out of and the fact that they load from the Tube instead of a Receiver Loading Gate. For what you pay Henry is a fair value but construction materials are not what I personally desire.

Curious about the materials you're talking about? I know about the zamac or whatever it is on the 22's, but what's up with the big boys? I'm also trying to decide on a 357 but they all seem to have their issues. Thanks.

Today's challenge is not to buy two more!
Today's chores are to open a lemonade stand to raise funds or call Santa on a SatPhone. :D

I'm a SASS shooter also, I started with the 357 Winchester 94 AE. I started out wanting to shoot 38's in it and my Vaqueros. After a breakage and a return to Winchester, I learned they weren't designed for 38's so I switched to 357's. As I became more competitive, I purchased a Uberti 73 in 357, then modified it to be able to shoot 38's if I wanted. It is a joy to shoot, and wouldn't go back. I shot the Rossi 92 after it was slicked up, but it is nowhere near the 73. The Marlins are also a good choice.

Same here. I'm aware of the 22 rim fire Henry's, and how they differ from the larger caliber models. I have the 45/70 brass receiver, which is made from alloys that appear to hold up well. As to the rest, I've not seen , heard, or read about any parts, that are less grade material wise.
