Anybody know the value of a 3'' 657 round butt by L. Horton? no box, gun is 99% former ower shot it very little. The big book says there was less than 200 of these made.

Its a standard ejector shroud. Does that mean its not a Horton. And what would be fair price ?

The firearm may or may not have come through Lew Horton. The only way to know for sure is to get a Factory Letter. However, the distributor that handles a particular production firearm does not alter the firearms value.

The revolver is not a Lew Horton Exclusive Offering like the one that you were reading abut in the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson

As to price, that is tough since you are in MA. I know that there are some laws there forbidding snub nosed revolvers but I am not up on them. If your state forbids the importation of certain firearms then one that is already in MA would carry a premium price over what can be purchased in the Free States of the Union.

If it looks like the gun in the bottom of this picture then I would say around 800-850 as long as it has the wood combat grips.

Thats it ,Thanks 4 Life .Thanks for all the help folks !

Any price under 1K is good for one of these IMO. Absolutely love mine! The combats came right off and are in my grip drawer and the Ahrends went on. Much more comfortable grip IMO.

Folks on the shooting line will be looking your way when you touch one off. Double hearing protection is mandatory with full power loads.

If you buy it I think you'll love it. You can reload 50 rounds for around $7.00-$8.00 and the light loads make it a fun revolver to shoot. It does have some recoil with full power loads and will take down a deer using 210 gr. Spper Gold Dots with ease. Use mine as a hiking/camping weapon and also pack it in the winter for heavily clothed BG's.

I called to see if mine is a Lew Horton and it is not. However, that doesn't make me feel any less happy about having it in my safe. I paid $700 for mine a few weeks ago with no box or paperwork.

Great trigger, great feel, great all around shooter. Highly recommended!

Very nice, great price and congrats!

Horton / Smorton. LH is just a distributor. They do have some neat and rare guns but the majority are just regular S&W's that they sell.
