According to the Lew Horton Distributors WEB site there were 500 of these made in 1990. It is a 5906 frame with a 3913 slide and Novak Lo-Mount fixed sights, product code 103048, special for 1990. This particular gun was shipped to a gun store in Oshkosh, WI and sold there on April 18, 1991. It then found it's way from the original owner to another gun store in Oshkosh from which I purchased it in 2008.

The gun is all but new. The seller said it was unfired but it has been fired, I assume at the factory. Otherwise it has that new gun smell. It came with the original box, manual and Warranty brochure, tools still sealed in the plastic bag and the original receipt from April 18, 1991.

Excellent little pistol! Nice, sweet, lovely, fantastic, and all the jazz . . .

Very nice, congrats!

I had to make my own, from a 5906 frame, and a 3914 upper. Great looking well balanced pistol. Enjoy yours!..........you are going to shoot it aren't you??

I'm not a collector, I'm a shooter. I don't have any safe queens or guns that are sitting in the safe for posterity. So, yes, it will be shot eventually.

That, a 4596 and a 5903 SSV and I would be the Happiest S&W Owner ever. I can't imagine owning all three, but there would be no more Grail for me......Beautiful pistol......Zebulon

Yes chuck, mine functions perfectly. Great shooter. Regards 18DAI.

Okay, I did it this afternoon. I put the 3914 slide on the 5903 frame. ALSO put the 5903 slide on the 3914 frame. Both slides rack smoothly. I think the 5903 w/ the now shorter side would make a great car gun. The duo-tone look is nice on both.
