My fellow forum members talked me into buying a Model 63 from my LGS..(didn't take much)...There were two sets grips, correct finger s&w targets, and non correct magnas.....that I left there! Love the target stocks..You're right, picky about ammo..This thing is fun, fun, fun to shoot...as far as accuracy, pork and bean cans at 10 yds. in double action are no problem..walked out at $525 plus tax...Love it so far! Your thoughts?

Of all the revolvers or pistols I own, the model 63 would be the last one I would sell. I bought one when they came out, it is the most versatile handgun I own.

$525 plus tax for a pinned barrel Model 63 that looks that nice ? I'd say you made out very well. It probably shipped with the Magna stocks but if the finger groove stocks fit your hand that's all that matters.

Well done! I'm certain you will enjoy shooting that little sweetie and even if you don't, you are definitely in it right! Congratulations on a fine purchase.

Yes, BC38 he did...the magnas that it had on it were number stamped to a late 60's gun, they are pristine. Owner likely swaped out orig. magnas for finger targets,or nicer magnas? my hands are large enough that j magnas are not right. If they were numbers match, that's another thing...he valued the magnas at $25

A NIB circa 1990's M-63 sold at the Gt Falls show on Saturday, the table next to me, for $800. So YOU did rather well.

Excellent!!
You didn"t steal it, but you got a heck of a bargain.
I need to get mine out and shoot it.
I have taught several new/young shooters about the
pleasures of revolvers with mine.

Here's agood article from some year back.

I'm a big fan of those J-frame combat grips. Mine wore Pachmayer's for years until I put on the ones you have. Congrats!

Pinned or unpinned, the M63 is a very nice revolver. The only drawback I can see, is that is doesn't have it's original numbered stocks. That makes a big difference to some folks, like me. Like the above poster, I have replaced my stocks with factory targets and placed the numbered stocks in my stock box. I have lots of spares. Big Larry
