I was out of town for a few days and away from my computer, so I just saw this thread. Don't know what it was about but I have a bookcase ladder in my den. It's pictured below, though the picture was taken to show my rocking chair to a friend and not so much the ladder. If you have a question you think I can help you with about a bookcase ladder let me know.

We had a cool old wooden ladder at work. Used to have 2 but someone took 1. It had about 4-6 rungs up to a platform, maybe 24”-30” square with a railing around the 3 remaining sides. I know who got the second. Not me Would be nice for interior room painting.

The ladder came with the bookcases. I've seen ladder kits but they are more utilitarian looking. If you are not interested in aesthetics check out ROCKLER for a kit.

If you want it to be attractive looking, then I would recommend buying a "matching set." Mine is a modular design. You can have as many or as few bookcases as you want and with or without the corner/end units. With the space I have available in my den I chose two bookcases with two corner/end units.

Thank you Sir! This is exactly what I was needing, great prices too. I love that bookcase and ladder of yours, I'd like one (ladder) very similar to yours.
I've finished my built-in bookcase already, I've just starting on the finish and trim now.
