Any of you guys a plumber. I have a techincal question.

The only thing you really need to know about plumbing is that stuff flows downhill :D

Answers to Plumber Licensing Exam.

1. Hot is on the left.

2. Cold is on the right.

3. Water flows downhill.

4. Payday is Friday.

3 correct out of 4 to pass.

I'm not a plumber but if I were and reading this thread, I think I would be offended. Especially considering it's a lawyer telling me all I need to know. ;)

I'm kiddin' of course.

Plumbers:

Red is hot.
Blue is cold.
XXXX flows down hill.

Electricians:

White to white.
Black to black.
Green to ground.

Carpenters:

Do your best and caulk the rest.
Putty and paint makes a carpenter what he ain't.
I cut it three times and it's still too short.

I've been in a few showers around the country that were installed by someone who got 1. and 2. wrong.

My grandfather used to say he weren't no damn carpenter, he was a cabinet maker. Then he'd explain that carpenters were so dumb they drove screws with a claw hammer.

Dang, Beemer! You been hammering in wood screws so far...? (That's pretty funny! Use a punch or a nail to make a little hole where you want the woodscrew to go in. Then rub the woodscrew threads on a bar of soap or a candle and it'll go in easy. If the wood is really hard, drill a small hole, smaller than the screw, and it'll be easier.)

We have now exhausted my carpentry skills... :)

thanks for your help

Some great answers here. Question is how to properly do a static test on sewer pipe. As far as driving wood screws with a hammer I have a hard time keeping them on the screwdriver so I can hit the driver. I take no ofense from anyones answers. You ask a question here you better be ready for the answer.

Expandable plug ahead of the point of connection. Air or water for 12 hours, pass or fail. Obviously air gets a sealed tapped connector at the house.
Un-licensed steamfitter working in the gas trade.
