Hello guys and gals.

I am currently looking for a holster that would be owb, tlr1 or 2 compatible. I need a level 2 atleast. If i get into a scuffle, or someone tries to grab it, I dont want my gun to be easily accessible to other people.

I have a blackhawk without light that works great, but i just bought a good piece of land and will be walking it with my gun to my side just in case. There are no lights on the land and a light mounted weapon is a better solution for me. I use a cane at 28 years old and need to be able to access the weapon/light with 1 hand.

I have looked around and cant really find anything. I am hoping someone has had better luck than I have. I know safariland makes one, but im unsure about it.

Is this for a SD9VE with TLR-1 attached?

I'm more familiar with kydex rather than leather. There's hundereds of custom kydex makers out there that would do it. I like my SD9 kydex pancake holster from K Rounds and also holsters from Bladetech. I have some Blackhawk holsters but I highly recommend staying away from their M&P/SD9 holsters

Have you looked at Safariland holsters? Their website has a holster finder procedure where you enter the manufacturer of your pistol, model number, whether or not it has a light, and other information. The procedure then lists available holsters.

I can readily visualize your problem as I have some health issues at my 81 years and sometimes I use a walking cane. I know that regardless with or without the cane IF someone is within touching distance, I would be going to the ground IF I was involved in a scuffle. My advice forget the extra retention—it will also slow down YOUR ability to access your weapon. How could you with one hand—draw the weapon -turn on the weapon light-aim and fire the weapon- and hang on to the cane? I face the same problems and my personal solutions are to prepare to find myself flat on my back and know that my weapon will be in my right hand ready to fire if required.

Maybe attach a small light to the cane. Forget the weapon light.

Found one guys and gals.

I tried multiple options. Blackhawk, safariland, and some others.

I found one for each brand that i tried.

Blackhawk Epoch level 3 works, but it gets caught on the slide and gets snagged on the grooves on the front, so it works, but needs to be modified a little. The hood was a deterrent also, you need to press the thumb break to close the hood.

Safariland 6280-21921-131 for the m and p works perfect, but it is a level 2 holster. Just retained by pressure and the hood. This fits like it was made for the sd9. The hood can be closed without pressing your thumb break.

The one that I loved the best was actually the cheapest one. IMI-Defense Glock Tactical Holster Polymer Roto Level-2 Retention Paddle For Glock 17/19/22/23/25/31/32. Made for a glock, but fits really well. Hood cover is retractable by itself, and easy thumb release. No snags, easy draw, smooth. It does not fit exactly, but it is because the light tops out of the bottom, not because the gun tops out. So some slight modification to the bottom and voila. This holster is compact, and rugged. Its like a blackhawk, but compact. Also level 2, but works great. No, i didnt get it for free to pitch it out to you guys, i got it from amazon at 57$. I will try to post pictures later on after work.
