Link to Roy Jinks & S&W

Paul:
I haven't looked back through the threads for them. They might still be there or they might have been deleted. I apologized for my actions and I have no intention of trying to drag anyone else down with me.

I called S&W and I talked with customer service rep Paul Gazda and I ask him if they are still doing the factory letter for $30 and if they are sending any checks back. I told him that I read on a message board( on the internet)..... that it was going to be $50 and if you sent a check in to S&W they would send it back.He said "no way, I don't know what you are hearing but don't believe it" I told him could he check to be sure and he told for me to hold on. He came back on the phone and told me "there was talk years ago of going up but they will not go up on the price and they would never ever send any checks back"......I don't want to cause any trouble being new on this forum and I am Okay if you want to delete my original post (Please do)......I only want to find out information on my pistol. I too apologize if I have caused any problems to this board.

thanks

At this point, may I suggest that we just let this rest?
I suspect that might be a PRUDENT course of action......

Again (IMO) it does not take long to pull it off their website. Why is it still up on their Website?I want to be hopeful that I will get the letter for $30 but I do understand that it is a lot of work and I do appreciate S&W offering this service.

I am also hoping someone will help me date this pistol as close as they can if cannot get the letter.

Don't worry about the letter stuff. If there are any changes they will be announced by the Official Changer in Charge(S&W) and not folks here. If there ever are any, be assured that a S&W letter will continue to be one of the best buys on the planet. Carry on according to what you see on the factory site or info from S&W Customer Service.

I would start a thread with Victory DOB or some such in the title. There are a couple guys here that have databases on them that could nail it for you but would not be reading this thread. You can also help them by offering info on your gun for their databases.

I called yesterday as well. They didn't know for sure but suggested let Mr. Jenkins return from vacation for clarification on the price increase. They mentioned to make the same inquiry on the 5th. They told me to call back and would patch to Mr. Jenkins, I feel no need to bother this busy man with an inquiry of this nature. I'll let those who know him make the contact and post the results, so he's not flooded with calls. After all the man is retired I hear!

Yes indeed !!

And to all S&WCA members on this forum, especially for the benefit of the more recent ones, if you are signed up to our forum, go do the following two things:

First read message #18969 regarding the letter topic.

Second and most important... read message #15318 to get an idea how this breach of protocol could end up having a very unwanted ramification.

I would send for all the letters you need now before the price changes. It is a bad business practice to return checks, I do not believe that it will happen. The price is the price until they announce it, they would be wrong to return checks before they change the price.
