When I buy a paper, I like to do the puzzles if I have time. The Isaac Asimov Super Quiz can be fun or frustrating. Sometimes I quit half way through if I see that the results will be too embarrassing. :D

Well for once, I got them all right. This one seemed to be a cut above the usual "What was Harry Potter's favorite broomstick?" type questions. See how you can do:

I took the quiz. Can't believe I missed on Catch-22! I feel dumb. Yossarian is one of my literary heroes.

I missed "Metamorphosis". My guess was "The Fly"!

I got the rest, even though I hadn't read them all. Catch-22, however, is one of my favorite books, and one of my favorite movies!

I missed "Girl Crazy" I usually do pretty well at the quizzed and do them pretty much every day (Seattle Times). Every once in a while I'll get them all, but usually miss a couple.

That's the one I missed as well.

In case you're interested (or didn't know), The Fly is a short story written in 1957 by George Langelaan. I believe it was published in Playboy. The original film of it came out in 1958. I have a copy of it in an anthology by Alfred Hitchcock titled Stories for Late at Night. It's definitely a creepy story and should be read late at night.

I must have taken a different quiz; mine was about who made famous quotes beginning with 'I'.

My paper has the quiz every day and I love taking it while sipping my morning tea. If the quiz is about popular cuture or celebrities, I'll only get one or two right.

OOPPSS! Looks like the link to the quiz updated to the new one for today! The one I referenced was for yesterday (Tuesday, June 28).

I could probably do a screen shot and paste it here, but it's copyrighted so that could be a violation of numerous rules. ...

Note: I edited the link in the OP to point to the correct quiz.

Got them all except the last one which I thought might have been "Naked Lunch". However I have read only Catch-22 and Robinson Crusoe and know the rest only though reputation. It's a test that doesn't really prove much.

Only thing it proves is that you're aware of some of the greatest novels ever written.

I'd agree with those who say, "So what?," in the sense that there are more important things to know, but, that is what it proves.

I knew 'em. I don't think it important that I do, but, I do think they are all good books that I enjoyed reading.:)

No sweat.....

But then I like taking literature quizzes. And geography and science and history and art and....

Just no sprots. Us trivia specialists don't like sprots questions. The reason is that we are generally ROTTEN at sprots questions. I didn't even know Coastal Carolina was in the running until somebody put it on the TV.

Thanks. Quizzes are fun. Just no sprots...please.

PS: I especially like non-trivial trivia. :)

Well not..

Catch 22 and Metamorphosis "literature"??!!
Stevw W.

Well maybe not CLASSICAL literature... But like Slaughterhouse Five, Catcher in the Rye, Nineteen Eighty-One , A Clockwork Orange and similar modern classics they are very worthwhile reading.

I draw the line at 'Jonathon Livingston Seagull'. 'Metamorphosis' made more sense than that P.O.S.:D
