It amazes me how much people still toss their garbage out of their vehicles. There are a few groops who pick it up line the highway with hundreds of garbage bags full. I think a lot ofi this comes from the back of pickups with loose trash.

Nothing like being behind an Escalade on 22" rims full of fat slobs and the windows roll down and 400 empty White Castle boxes fly out. Then the empty wine bottle soon follows. Truly disgusting.

It amazes me around here when I see kids driving down the road and tossing whatever they didn't eat or drink and just throw it out the window. No respect for anyone.

Hate to say it, but I'm thinking that was a "learned" behaviour from their parent(s)?

As I've said before here, and am happy to reiterate, littering is a despicable act, demonstrating complete contempt for our environment, and for everybody else who has to deal with the litter's discarded trash. In the extremely unlikely event that I were put "in charge", I'd decree that litterers should be shot on sight, and the cost of their cleanup be billed to their estates. This, like spewing chewing gum or tobacco onto public places, is vile and disrespectful, low class, human vermin behavior. Signing off now, going to WalMart in hope of finding uplifting examples of human dignity..

Saw bubba towing a trailer full of stuff so he just might be going to his camp. Every so often a piece of clothing from the open trailer would be picked up by the wind and go flying. When he stopped for the light, honked the horn we told him what was happening. When the light turned he just kept going. Wasn't concerned about his stuff flying around except his flying clothing could have caused a a traffic accident. That was our reason for letting him know. Don't know wether or not he believed us, but I bet when he got to where he was going he became a believer then. This actually happen on HWY 90. Frank

Heck, just last week I was at WalMart and noticed a young lady waiting for someone - open her car door - drop one of those plastic bags out the door and close the door. I walked up to her and said where did she think that trash bag was going to end up. She told me to kiss her ***! A lot of people just don't care anymore.

I'm a motorcyclist and constantly have nimrods throw things out when I'm behind them. Although small, one of the most annoying for me when on a motorcycle is a lit cigarette.

Arkansas has a litter control hotline. If you are in Arkansas and you see someone toss out litter, please give it a call.

Toll Free Litter Hotline: 1-866-811-1222

I have noticed that many smokers don't think litter laws apply to them. Piles of butts at intersections where people sit waiting for the light to change.

Chewing gum is another one. I have never thrown a piece on the ground in my life.

And we Americans aren't the only ones. Sarajevo where I am working now is a litter filled city.

I sweep industrial parking lots for a living and can tell you, if it has been made by man, we have found it discarded. Companies that hire, shall we say, non citizens are the worst offenders in this area. What really chaps my hide is when we find trash piled up against an empty, unlocked dumpster. I know, I know, job security.

Hey if you want to smoke...that's fine...it's your life. However, when I see a motorist flip their butt out the window..I have to confess that I hope they get Emphysema and cough a lung up. I see piles of butts at intersections and it is sad...I would like to follow them home and take a dump on their yard and see what they have to say.

We have a new "unsecured load" law here which has some pretty stiff fines for the ticket. We also have an unlawful disposal of hazard material statute (started out as a lit cigarette butt law, then broadened). The fine is about $1150. "Here's your lovely parting gift".

Let alone how many ditch fires are started as well . I think smokers should have to eat their butts after smoking them .Either lit or out that be left up to them . That way they could get the full benefit and most use of their stupidity .

I've called the litter hot line before and it did no good at all. I was told a LEO would have to witness the act. Maybe it is just our area that is like that.

On another occasion my team and I where driving back to base and a Humvee in front started throwing trash out of all the windows. We called the guard shack and told them to tell the idiots to turn around and pick up the trash they threw out. Of course they said it wasn't them. It got interesting until their supervisor showed up and we showed him the trash. They ended up spending all their downtime for the next few days picking up trash along the highway.:D Idiots!

White, well-to-do, soccer moms in their Lexus, are just as likely to desecrate our great land as much as anyone else. Let them see you take their picture with your cell phone. I quit doing **** like this back in the 70s. Littering is a crime, report it. They should be given a stiff fine. It doesn't matter if it's Wal-Mart parking lot or Yellowstone. Dumping trash, should land you on a chain gang, cleaning up dump sites. To twist what Gump said, "Trash is, as trash does." They all need a whuppin'.

My wife was driving on the interstate here in NC when a rock came out of a dump truck and cracked her windshield. Our daughter was in the car and made a couple of notes as to the date, time, milepost and the name and number on the truck. I called the company that owned the truck and was passed to a manager who told me that the disclaimer on the back of the truck absolved them of responsibility and was pretty smart-assed about it as well. His tune changed when I told him that the "not resposible for broken windshields" disclaimer wasn't worth the paint it took to put it on the truck and my wife was going to call the highway patrol and sign a ticket for failure to secure the load. It's a steep fine for that here in NC and license points. He told me to get a couple of estimates and he'd pay the average. I did and he did. Net result: new windshield and no ticket for his driver.

Our county uses prisoners to pick up trash along the road. They stay very busy.

One of my pet peeves. Why is it so much easier to toss a piece of trash out of the window than it is to wait until you get home and put it in the garbage can? Every now and then I'll put on a pair of gloves and take a large trash bag and walk up and down my street and pick up all the trash people have thrown out their windows along the street. It makes me wonder what the litterbugs homes look like.
