Friends, it is now after 3:00 A.M. here in Montana. In case you don't know, I have stage 3 Hepatocellular Carcinoma, or Primary liver Cancer, developed from Hepatitis C and Cirrhosis from bad blood products. I have what is called a Chemoembolization scheduled at the hospital at 8:00 A.M., but must be there before 6:00 A.M. to start I.V.'s, get plaetlets, and be infused with factor 8 to try to controll the bleeding. It's about an hour to the hospital. They're going to stick a tube into an artery in my groin 
(OUCH!), into the artery, and feed it into the liver and then into the tumor(s) on one side of the liver. They'll then introduce chemicals into the tumor(s) which are supposed to kill and shrink the tumors. (Hello, Mr. Tumor. My name is Mr. Chemical. I'm here to kill you today. Do have a nice day now. 
) They say they need me awake to follow instructions. You know, "breathe in, breathe out, hold your breath". The down side is it will make me sicker that you-know-what for about 3 weeks. The upside is it SHOULD give me another 3 months. If it works, they'll schedule another proceedure for the tumor(s) on the other side of the liver. They've also talked about trying to fry the tumors later with microwaves (Who's bringing the popcorn? ). The doctors said that there's a chance something might go wrong and I could die. I kind of caught them off guard when I asked "so how much more dead would I be now than I would be in 6 months?" Sorry, gang, I've got to throw in some levity. Anyway, if I could toss in a prayer request, it would be greatly appreciated. I've been kind of burning up the lines myself, needless to say. But if God has other plans for me, it's His call to make. Even "NO!" is an answer to prayer. I'll update when/if I'm able. I have to start getting ready to go now. Thanks. -Ed.
