Question?
I only have the 2 mags that came with my Shield.
Does it affect the mags if I leave them loaded for very long?

About the same as leaving your car suspended on its springs for 10 years.

Nope - from what I know weakness occurs more from loading and reloading over and over (just normal use) or "cycling" and that is slow enough as it is with normal use. I do use some mags for range and some for self defense only, after they have been range tested once or twice of course.

Certainly others might have their opinions but that is mine......

An engineer told me that springs weaken/break from being compressed and uncompressed repeatedly. Not from being compressed.

I guess I should have checked previous posts. Been asked before!
Thanks for answering.

Yes its been asked before and will be asked several more times in the future and yes the lovely folk here will be more then happy to answer it over and over and over. :D

I had some Glock mags that were 13+ years old with the factory springs they came with. Those 3 mags were my carry mags and only got rounds cycled through them once or twice a year and when I sold that Glock, the springs were in better shape than the range mags which were shot several times a month and had the springs replaced often.
