I can't find my original set of numbers. but I do have a record of loading my 5,000th round in January of 1986. I have never been a competitive shooter, just a plinker. Most all were 200 grain lead SWC's with a few round nose for variety. Most of the powder was 231 with a small bit of Unique and Red Dot. The majority of the primers were Winchester as that is what my LGS stocked. During the first primer shortage, I got my hands on some Federals and used those. Also a few CCI and Remington when necessary. I started with an RCBS Junior and got a Dillon 550 25 or so years ago. We moved to our new house in 91 and I think it took me almost 10 years before my "reloading room" was created. The Dillon came sometime after that.
I loaded my 10,000th in 12 and 20,00th in 18. .45 is the only caliber I have kept records on. I haven't loaded a revolver round for a long time. I did do a thousand 9mm last Winter. I thought about doing some more this year, but don't want to waste my 231. I do have 4 pounds of Unique and might give that a try.
It has been a very rewarding and relaxing hobby. I sometimes think of it as therapy.
